Twilight Fans.... have you read Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight?

Quote  |  Reply

I got Twilight in my stocking for xmas.
Have since bought and read the following 3 books... and also went to see the movie (yes slightly obsessed).

I just found out that there is a 5th book that she has written and posted on her site.

Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight

Has anyone read it?  Stephanie Meyer does say on her website.....

"I'd rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting? It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I've decided to make the draft available here (at the end of this post). This way, my readers don't have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward's head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That's what inspired me to write it in the first place."

So.... did you read it?
I'm so into the characters I'm not sure I can stay away.

I did read it - definately a rough draft, but awesome.  It really explains a lot of his behaviors and thoughts in the beginning.  Loved it.  the only annoying thing is it literally ends in the middle of something.....but other than that, awesome!

I read it.  I feel bad that someone did that to her work and I really hope that she finishes it...but when it comes to Twilight I literally have no self control.  I'm just finishing up my second round of the entire series, not reading it makes me depressed, lol, I'm so sad....

I've not read Midnight Sun, as tempting as it is... I don't have any simpathy for her that the book was leaked tho. She GAVE a copy to someone, a friend of hers. so....what did she expect? granted, it was mean and totally wrong for them to leak it, but come on...it's not like it was stolen from her....

I read it and it was amazing. Its crappy that it got leaked, but im going to wait patiently until she finishes it and publishes it.

I read it and I hope she finishes it.  It was messed up that someone leaked it but I really do hope she finishes it, the thing that got me was how funny Edward is in his own head and I really enjoyed reading from his point of view.

I totall get how not reading it makes you depressed, not reading it for me makes me feel like I haven't visited a group of friends for a really long time......I actually miss all of them after awhile and have to pick up the books again

I leant the books to my sister........ and if she hasn't started reading them in the next week I think I am going to ask for them back and read thru them again.

I am a speed reader.  I read each book in a day (maybe 2 days for the 3rd/4th book) - so might take it easy this time and try to read slower.

I have another book that my mother in law gave me.  Its in my bag.  But I just don't want to start it.  I don't want to get lost  in a new book.  I want more Twilight.

I prefered what I read of Midnight Sun to Twilight I suppose it is just my personal preference, but I am so pissed that she doesn't plan to finish it! I would love to re-read the entire series from Edward's point of view.

Edward tells in a way that defines him without question as one born in 1901. There is a politeness and integrity there that is sweet well and mannered, yet intense and murderous and I loved it!

That integrity is absent in todays world and it was nice to hear it.

Hey there, I am an obsessed Twilight fan too.  I have read the entire series three times and seen the movie 8 times.  I absolutely have a crush on Edward.  He is actually what convinced me too try and loose weight to better myself.  I would love to chat about the series.  I have read Midnight Sun. It was great to see the book from Edwards perception.

I just discovered the Twighlight series when I was actually net surfing about the True Blood series (love the Sookie Stackhouse books). I got Twighlight out from library, major waiting list, loved the book and saw the movie which only just came out in New Zealand on boxing day. Absolutely loved it, but I think I enjoyed it more cause I had read the book first and so understood the movie better. I am now on the library waiting list for the next book in the series but I would love to own the set myself so I can reread them. Will also have to get the movie in DVD when it comes out.I have always had a sick facination for vamipiric movies and books - kind of like that sexy bad boy thing! Can also recommend the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton.

I read it and to be honest, it not only explains Edward's behavior in the book, but it also explains why Robert Pattinson portrayed Edward the way he did in the movie.  Remember... Stephenie Meyer was on the set of the movie and very close to the entire production.  I'm sure that she gave him a lot of insight into Edward that readers like us wouldn't necessarily know because she is, essentially, Edward.
