Twin Wanted - F37, W: 255, G: 140
Hi all,
I just joined CC last week, and I'm looking for a twin or buddy to help with my motivation. I've searched through some of the twin postings, but didn't find a match. Maybe you are out there searching too! Here are my stats:
Female
Age: 37
Weight: 257
Goal: 140
Height: 5ft 5in
Hope you are out there, Twin!

January,
I am
Female
Age:37
Weight: 214.5
Starting Weight: 230
Goal Weight: 155
Height: 5"7"
I have been on CC for about a year. I have lost and maintained a loss. I don't get enought exercise and have struggled with my weight since puberty. I want to get to a healthy activity level and weight, and diet for that matter. I do not want the health and knee problems that my Mom and her parents struggle with. Thyroid, blood pressure, diabetes, lung, knee replacements.
My sister and I were buddies, but she is younger and pregnant with twins so she is not watching her weight so much!
Let me know what you think?
Mary
Hey, I'm here too! (raising hand)
I am 37. I was 250-ish (refused to get on a scale). Lost weight tracking cals and I'm now at 208. I'm 5' 4" on a good day :)
My immediate goal is to get under 200. Then 175. Finally 150.
:) Jodi
I'll join you. I'm 39 (will be 40 in February), CW 253 lbs, SW 277 (Sept 07), 5'8. My current goal is to get to 185 which is the lowest adult weight I can remember (while in college). Then I will determine what to do from there.
I've been using CC for about a year and a half now. I did great until about July of last year when I started slacking on logging and exercising. I gained back about 20 lbs of the 40 lbs I'd lost. In December I recommited to improving my lifestyle and have built back up to exercising daily and logging most days.
Feel free to add me as a friend:)
Hi all!
This is great that there are so many of you who replied! I think its going to be great to see how we all are doing, and to support each other!
I'm not sure if we want to have a 'results' day, or what... I weighed in this morning, and i'm down 3 lbs since my starting weight, so I think i'm off to a good start. I'm also heading off to the gym tonight for a workout and some pain, but it will be good pain! ;-)
Jan
May I join you?
My stats are not as close as the others but I like the idea of posting daily and my goal weight is the same as yours. I am 45 years old, 5 foot 3 and 189 pounds right at this moment, I've set up a two week mini "goal/threat". I am going to post a picture of myself in this skin tight (today, anyway) dress on my public profile. If I am good for the next 14 days it will be a source of accomplishment, if I am not then it will be a motivator. The dress is for dancing and it is really tight in all the good places, my stomach looks like I inhaled a tuba so that is the area I want to work on most this next two weeks. I used to go to Weight Watchers and did extremely well (lost 60 pounds in 1.5 years) and it was the weekly weigh in that kept me "thinking".......I knew some other person on this planet would know my true weight and it kind of kept me in a "Holy cow!" frame of mind that worked.
I love this site! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Julieann
Looks like we're quintuplets! Well I had a great weekend, I've been eating right and exercising and then came LUNCH! Ack! I went to cheesecake factory and picked out what I thought would be a low cal salad (and it was) but when I got up to go to the ladies room my husband ordered me a martini and that was the end...I split a piece of cheesecake with him and I felt so guilty about eating all that at lunch that I ate more at home. ![]()
I'm up to about 1600 calories for the day (which is about what I aim for in an entire day) so if I can manage to not eat the rest of the day I'll be ok.
Hope you all had a better monday than me!
Jodi
Hi everyone! Well I had a pretty good Monday. I was down 1.5 lbs this morning so that never hurts to start the day off on a positive note. I spent most of Saturday morning logging my meals for the week and just planning everything out in general in the hopes that it will help me stay on track. So far so good. While I did have a few additions (2 pc of chocolate) everything fit nicely into my plan. I also managed to get in 45 minutes of exercise today.
Jodi: don't worry about today. Just get back on track tomorrow. One day won't derail you it's when we let 1 minor slip turn into days or weeks that we cause ourselves all the pain.
Julie: I agree with the weighin keeping you on you "thinking". I found that once I got up the nerve to actually post my weight/goals that I had an easier time wanting to continue and not give up after just 1-2 days or weeks. It helps to keep me committed knowing that I'll have to "confess" if I go off my plan or stop exercising.
Jan: Hope you had a good workout! As far as a "results" day that's fine or we can just touch base when we can to keep each other on our toes and get tips/support.
Hope everyone has a good week!
Well I am good for daily or weekly, either way. I did really weel yesterday until my daughter made the chocolate chip cookies last night! still I was under what the burn meter says my daily calorie needs are, so that is good, just too much sugar and too much fat!
I don't know about you all, but I have played around with the numbers and find the my weight loss occurs at about 1800 calories with moderate exercise.
I have been stressed lately and really busy, which translates, as I am sure that you know, into forefitting exercise for other things. Which is funny cause it helps with the stress and I sleep better.
Maybe we should post stats and positive moments, passing up the cookies for instance?
I agree MS4423! I seem to post when I endulge in cookies, but not all the times I pass them by!
I used to stay around 1600 cals per day when I first started (I was 230ish). Now that I'm 208 I cut my cals to about 1500. In the first two week of being "back" I lost 10 lbs. Now I'm stuck! So I kicked up my exercise and NO CHANGE! I've been at 208 for 2 weeks now and I'm exercising 3x a week and eating 1500 cals.
Some other people who exercise regularly said to stick with my current plan and my body will catch up. That it's most likely just in shock. So I'm going to keep trying and see what happens.
Augette, congrats on the 1.5! I'd take whatever I can get at this point!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Jodi
Hi Everyone,
My name is Lucia.
Can I join you?
I'm 39
Weight:281.5
Height: 5'8"
Goal: 170
I just joined 1 week ago today.
I'm really happy with this site. Alot of helpful tools to use.![]()
Welcome Lucia!
How's everyone been doing?
Although the scale isn't showing it I've been doing much better. I'm back on track with the exercise. I'm trying for at least 30 minutes a day so far it's working of course with all the snow we've been getting I'm either shoveling snow (exercise!) or stuck in the house so I've no excuse (not that that ever stopped me before) not to get on the bike. I've also been reading a book while I'm on the bike and that seems to make the time fly by.
I've been doing pretty good with pre-planning my meals as well. I've noticed that when I do I often have extra calories at the end of the day. That's been nice this week since I made cupcakes over the weekend. So far I've been good about keeping my calories in line with the cupcakes - YAY!! It's so nice when I know that I can indulge in things like a piece of cake or cookie and not end up going way over on my calories.
Hi all,
So i've discovered that i'm not as great a forum poster as I thought I would be... Sorry about that. My resolution for this week is to post more!
I'm down a total of 9.5 lbs so far, which has me really pumped that this is working! The gym isn't as horrific as I thought it would be, so that's good too.
I was thinking - because there seems to be so many of us, it would probably be a good idea to start a Group, so we can post at will on different subjects. What do you think? Any ideas for a name?
Have a good week!
Jan
Ok - so i'm one of those people who need to act as soon as possible once they get an idea... So... I've created a group called "Determined to change!". Here is a link:
