Just had my two year anniversary on Feb. 19th!
Hi to everyone!
I stumbled across this group and thought it would be fun to hear from other ex-smokers. I quit just a little over two years ago, and as much as I love not smoking, I do still miss it. So I do what I call secondhanding...when one of my friends goes outside to smoke (I live in WA so you can't smoke indoors anywhere unless you are on the reservation), I trail along and feel like I am still a smoker :). Kind of silly, I know...but I really miss that part of not smoking.
I quit by using the patch, chewing countless packs of gum, and sucking on Dum-Dums. I haven't had a single drag since I quit, and know I will never go back to it. I view my quitting the same way an alcholic or drug addict would..when you quit, you are a "recovering" smoker, and all it would take would be that one drag to make you do it full time again.
That is my story..I look forward to reading everyone elses! And if you are reading this and need help quitting, please feel free to get a hold of me..support really is the key to staying smoke free.
