Is it bad if I am not meeting my "reccomended calories" for the day? At what point does your body go into fasting mode? I'm 130 lbs and 5'6'... my goal is 110-120. The computer says i should be eating 2,300 cals but I only eat about 1,700-2000. I want to lose weight faster!
Also, does anyone have tips for getting rid of "stubborn belly fat" and fat around your hips!! I know that the fat around your hips and bottom is not that dangerous to your health but I HATE IT!! I hate the female pear shape!!
2300 cals? To lose weight? You must get a LOT of exercise during the day, lol.
Anyway, the general rule of thumb is not to go below a 1000-calorie deficit, so if you're burning 2700 a day, you wouldn't want to go below 1700, etc. 1700-2000 sounds like plenty for someone of your size, but I suppose that if you're really active, you'll be needing more.
And about the stubborn belly fat... we all want to lose it, but you can't target areas to lose weight in, unfortunately. ![]()
Some of it is genetics (where you're more likely to store fat), and the rest--as you continue to lose weight, it'll come off. After a while, you just have to do exercises to tone up your belly area--it doesn't burn fat, but if you don't have a huge amount of excess flab on your tummy, you'll start to see some nice tone there. Same goes for your thighs and butt--for those, lunges are good exercises to do, and so is lower-intensity cardio (higher-intensity running will bulk your legs up with muscle, which not everyone wants, haha).
Also, at 5'6", I think 110 would definitely be too thin for you. I'm 5'4" and my goal is 120. Everyone's different, I know, but I wouldn't advise you to go below 120.
i am officially jealous of your body shape and your apparently amazing exercise skillzzz. you will be alive much longer than i.
