Can u loose inches but stay at the same weight?
Okay so ive been running 3 times a week and ive notice my pants fitting looser on my legs and around my waist but when i go to weigh my self i way the same!
Why is that??
Because muscle weighs a LOT more than fat. Yet long, lean muscle doesn't take up as much space as fluffy fat.
This is why I don't weigh in. I measure.
Congratulations! :D You've built wonderful, long, lean, fat-burning and energy-giving muscle and gotten rid of mushy, space-taking fat! Can't buy that for any price.
oh yes! I didnt lose anything last week but measured my self and lost 7 inches! I had to re measure and make sure I wasnt seeing things lol
That's great to lose the inches...word to the wise to keep that in prospective much more than the number on the scale. Last go round with my "diet", I was doing great at the gym and felt more firm, but I stupidly used the scale as my only gage of success, and was repetedly disappointed when it didn't shift. Eventually I stopped working out because I felt that it wasn't winning. As you can tell, I'm back on CC and sadly am up another 6 lbs. So stick with the measuring, sounds like you're doing great!
Absolutely. I don't measure, but I'm fixing to start. I haven't lost a pound this week but my pants are falling off of me straight out of the dryer (they used to be really snug out of the dryer) and my jacket's magnetic buttons don't pop open when I sit down. I'm super excited haha!
So yeah, measurements are just as important as scales, even more so if you work out a lot.

You may be gaining muscle, but only if you are maintaing a calorie surplus. You can only gain muscle if you eat more to support it, it is physically impossible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time.
That being said, you may be losing fat, but retaining other stuff (like water in your muscles) which would explain the volume loss without weight loss. there are lots of reasons why your cloths may fit better without actual weight loss.
Measurements and how your clothes fit are a better indication on how you're doing, I think. Good work!

I tend to agree with thermal here. It is really difficult to gain muscle mass unless you're heavily weight training and maintaining a calorie surplus. (It is even more difficult for a woman because they have less testosterone.) For someone who's running, especially if you just started, you may experience water retention in your muscles along with fat loss, explaining why you feel (and are) smaller but the scale hasn't moved.
yeah, if u work out to tone up your body, you can lose inches. its actually a good thing if your fitting into your jeans, and if you keep it up your weight will follow soon
