Do u plan what u eat?

Quote  |  Reply
hey y'all!

i just wanna say THANKSSS to those who replied to my post earlier! =) Its great to know it works!!

Anywho, i have ANOTHER question again, lol.

I have difficulty sticking to my meal plan and sometimes want other things beside what i plan. Can you tell me if u guys plan what to eat the night before or just eat whatever u are craving and still count the calories.

THANK YOU!

I do a bit of both...I usually eat pretty much the same thing for breakfast everyday...then try to eat a moderate lunch so I can have a bigger dinner...I just make sure I have plenty of food in the pantry/freezer to choose from that is healthy...that way I am pretty sure to be able to eat what I am craving.

I simply can't plan my whole day of meals and snacks-I'm too much of a 'eat by whim' kind of person.

the only thing that's consistant is that for breakfast I have cereal and fruit. the rest of the day, I have a cupboard and fridge stocked with healthy foods to choose from. keeps it from becoming boring.
I am a little different than most.  On Sunday I plan the entire weeks dinners.  That way I have something I know I will love to look forward to each day.  I then make sure to have plenty of good healthy things on hand for breakfast and lunch.  During the week I am at work, so I stock up for there.  This morning I mixed it up compltely and had spinach, mushrooms, egg whites and green onion for breakfast.  Truly not your normal breakfast.  I try not to get into a rut with any meal.
Ismile - I do the exact same thing.  Sunday morning, I sit down with my recipes and figure out dinner for the entire week.  Then make out my grocery list, cut out my coupons, and hit the store.

As far as the rest of the question, Crissy, I don't plan lunch until that day - but I have a variety of things available - soup, Lean Cuisisnes, salad supplies, fruits and veggies and I can decide, based on what that night's dinner is going to be - what I want to do for lunch.  I work all day, so I have to plan ahead some-what - have to bring my lunch and snacks with me.
I always plan what I eat ahead of time or else I'll mess up my diet. This is why I have a hard time sticking to my plan on the weekends. I don't plan! For some reason its just easier for me to stick to a plan when im busy. On the weekends yeah Im out doing stuff but when I come back home im bored agian. I don't constantly eat or anything like that I just don't choose the right foods 2 eat. Im trying so hard. 2morrow im going out 2 buy a digital scale. We'll see how much i've lost.
dolcezzamaria, your post could have been written by me!  I suffer from the same inability to plan on the weekends (despite very specific planning during the week) and end up with tons of NOT good for me foods!
I usually plan ahead but I leave myself a couple hundred calories of
wiggle room so if I get to feeling snackish I won't go over my limit.
I do kind of the same thing. I plan for the next day. And then I have "allowance" So say I make my meal plans and I have about 75 calories left. If I feel snackish between meals, I know I have a few extra calories to munch on something.
I gave up on my food plan. I just make sure i leave room for a snack.. I have around 1100-1200 a day. That is if i don't feel up to that snack. I try to have my snack at 3 if i miss the time-- Then no snack for me. I can tell you. I miss the snack 3 times a week. Reason why is because..

I don't want it. I gave up on my food plan because when i start off with the day.. By the end of the day.. I would like to have something else. What i do is this.. I cut out a lot of fats and i have cut down on my meats. I don't eat red meat. It looks very nasty to me.

I can't get over the look of it. Not only that. I try not to eat a lot of pork. My mother cooks that stuff on the weekend. Too many cals in that pork meat too.. I hate that. I love it. But i hate that i can't have as much of it as i wish. So if i can't have a lot of it. It is best for me not to have it at all. I try to stick to that now.

If you have a number of calories you want to stay in do it that way. Read the box, can what ever----- and work on your servings..

Good luck to you.. lynn
I plan exactly what I'm going to eat the night before. I've got tomorrow's menu all made up complete with 5 small meals, 2 of them including snack-like foods. Today I deviated from my menu, but that's because I had snack attacks. Anyhow, I'll make up my menus, but that doesn't mean I have to stick to them. If I feel like changing one food for another, I do it, or if calories are too much, I cut down later in the day. Just remember, you can make your menus, but they're not set in stone. I just know that if I don't plan it out, I wind up goin' over on calories.
