Ugh. What's a girl with 11 pounds to lose and a crazy life to do?

What do you do when you've lost any and all willpower to even take the time to find healthy food, much less prepare it and exercise after it, despite a strong urge to become fit?

I feel like a complete and total slob.  I hate being the only one trying to eat regular, healthy meals, and I hate working out alone.  So I simply do neither (Though lately I have been making an effort to track my calories and adhere to a limit).

I have a 2-year-old daughter who wants my attention 24/7 (and who I love to give attention as much as possible), a job that commands the rest of my attention, I'm spending a lot of potential exercise time on the computer looking for a better job, and I'm about to go back to college.  My energy level is six feet under (no matter how much sleep I get I always wake up feeling like I slept .05 seconds AND got hit by a Mack truck), and I'm too poor for all these fancy, healthy foods.  I will take a $0.79 box of mac'n'cheese over a freaking pork tenderloin any day - my paycheck and bills demand it!  What is a girl to do, with 11 pounds to lose and a wedding on the horizon?

There are a lot of ways to get around spending a lot of $ on food. Instead of mac n cheese- go for the peanut butter (which is also very cheap and full of great things!) Spend your money wisely and it is very easy to shop for healthy foods!

As for being tired- when you begin to exercise regularly your energy levels rise. So not only will you be exercising, but you will more than likely have higher levels of energy by default. Bonus? Yes!

Get your head in the game, girl! Anyone can do this! All it takes is motivation, and that is what we are here for! To motivate you!

Yes, I remember the amazing energy levels from working out a lot before.  But that was back in the day, in high school, when everything was easy.  Haha.  It seems much more difficult nowadays.  I'm sure I can do it, I just don't know where my willpower is, and I'm overwhelmed by the thought of having to schedule a workout around all the rest of my responsibilities, which themselves often overwhelm me.  Frown

That is VERY understandable. I think a lot of people run into the same problem. Start small, maybe work in a 10 or 20 minute jog everyday. Do strength training at night before bed. Stuff like that. Eventually you will start to feel it, and it will make you want to fit it in!

It is all a matter of planning what to buy before going to the store, you can buy healthy food for the same kind of money as junkie prepared stuff. It does take more time but it is worth it because you will feel better quickly once you are eating better food. I have been at it for a couple months and feel alot better already. Don't forget chasing around your little one is exercise! It takes some effort but it is well worth it.

Try to work in exercise that will compliment your schedule. Like taking your kid to the park, or walking a message to a person instead of emailing it. You could also try taking a 5 minute walk or so on your breaks. The fresh air usually helps me feel more alert afterwards and I feel like I can get my head back in the game. That's what I have to do, my schedule is crazy hectic too.
