UGH what is wrong with me?!?! "Going" from 165 to 145....

I am SO optimistic about other people! I love to encourage people and help them out. But when it comes to myself....

I just logged my foods for the past few days and reviewed them. I'll go from 1600-ish (my recommended daily) to 2100 to 1100 in the span of a week!! And the worst part is, I don't even care!! On high days I'll eat junk like pizza or beer, on low days I'll be overly cautious and just eat fruits and veggies.

My thoughts right now are: Jeez, you're not that overweight. Or: At least you're thinking about it now.

Or worst: It doesn't matter. You CAN'T loose weight. You're not even exercising so don't get your hopes up you idiot.

Some people on here have lots of weigh making better food choices, but is is possible that because I'm only trying to lose like 30 lbs and I already eat relatively balanced, that just changing my eating isn't going to matter? I know I need to exercise, but I should I just not worry until I can start going to the gym in three weeks?

Or maybe I just don't know what to eat?

Has anyone else gone from 165 to 145? What did you do to get there?

ok, I won't lecture you on the food, you know the answers there.  You need to plan what you can eat and have it available.  You can do it!

But you CAN go out for a walk.  I find a 1 hour walk in the evening helped me jumpstart my weightloss when I was starting out.  Good luck!

i agree, walking is the best way to get fit. i walk for half an hour every lunch break, sometimes its hard to motivate myself to do it (believe me) but the calories burned still add up.

Theres some other small things you can add in your normal lifestyle, that will help you burn a few more calories a day:

Stand up whilst on the phone - your likely to wander around and your using more mucsles

Use the furthest away bathroom - if your desperate it may even make you run there lol!!

Get off a stop early on the bus/tube

I can SO relate.  I have gone from 170 to 149 and I still really struggle with making smart choices.  I must admit that my food choices are pretty good, but I still have bad days...like last night...but I REALLY struggle with exercise.  I hate it!  I have done pretty well with light exercise, so you might want to start with that.  I walk at my morning and lunch break everyday, and it's nice to get out in the sunshine and into the fresh air.  If you have anyone at work or wherever you spend the day that can walk with you, recruit them to help you out.  My walking buddy keeps me motivated and gets my butt out of my chair everyday.

Just take it day by day...I know it sounds like AA, but it's kind of how you have to look at it.  For me, it was an addiction to eating food to control my emotions that made me overweight, and that's what I have to battle.  And you know, have pizza and beer once in a blue moon, it will keep you sane!  Just relax, don't be so hard on yourself and make your weight loss a hobby!

By the way, CONGRATS on the 20 lbs you already lost!  That's a huge accomplishment!
