HELP!!  I do really well all day with moderation/calorie intake up to and including dinner....but then from the 7p - bedtime area I am in real trouble.  I am literally NOT hungry, but find myself eating/snacking while I watch TV.  I need something to do while I watch TV/Movies...any suggestions???

Since you are generally not hungry while watching tv and only doing it out of habit, I would suggest that you bring a few drinks with you and chew on a few pieces of SF gum. :)

Yes, I agree with silentdeadlyrose. After a few nights of doing it, you'll get used to it and be glad you're saving yourself the calories. Another thing I like to have at night is a hot cup of tea with some splenda and a splash of milk. Really makes me feel satisfied/full-something about the hot liquid. Also, you could plan a snack for this time, and only eat that snack-if you aren't very hungry you could make it something that takes awhile to eat like 100cal packs of popcorn,or if hunger is the problem, make it something more filling like an apple and the tea. And although these things may help, it ultimately comes down to one thing which is not what you really want to hear right now but is the truth. Quite simply, you just have to NOT do it. After you stop for a week or so, it won't even be that big of a deal anymore. Think about your goals, and stick to it. Mind over matter. Good luck!

Learn to do a craft like knitting or crochet! Most of the time we snack in front of the TV because we need something to do with our hands. If it's not enough you can add gum on top of that.

And if you absolutely feel you need to actually eat something go for something like celery since it's filling and  very calorie light.

Something else that might help is to break up your routine.  If you always watch TV after dinner, plan some other activity for that time.  Take a walk.  Call a friend.  Play a computer game.  Log onto CC.  I think the easiest way to break a bad habit is to add a good habit.

like dk said change the routine, go for a walk or something. do you workout? i always workout in the eve as soon as i get home and eat dinner about an hour after i workout. i dont get hungry before bed. if i wasnt something sweet i will just eat a couple of dates or a banana. good luck :)

Mmm! Orbit Gum works magic!

I have this exact same problem. I do really well all day and then almost blow it after 7! What I've found helpful for myself is chewing on ice or frozen juice. I still have that chewing or flavor I feel like I need but there are hardly any (or none if it's ice) calories to throw off my count.

Good luck to you!
