Ughhhh, Is this what my life has come to????

Soooo, I just got back from the club...

Ugh, I HATE CLUBS.

Yea, I'm a little tipsy/more than tipsy..so excuse my grammar....I know how hardcore some people are about grammar on these sites.

I'm just annoyed. Whenever I go to clubs, I just get looked up and down, and then some nasty -A - guys try to grind w/me...which I'm completely NOT interested in.

Where do you go to find the guys that want to talk about quantum physics, GOOD music-like punk rock/OLD school punk rock. Someone who knows a thing or two about m-theory...I mean, I'm just FED UP. Maybe I'm too cynical, but I just think there has to be some guys out there that have 1/2 a brain. There has to be a guy or 2 that are more interested in personality than how much cleavage I'm showing right???? This is just depressing.

I was told by a friend that her mother told her to meet an awsome guy, go to the cafeteria everyday at your local hospital to eat lunch.   Not only is the food awsome, but your bound to meet your future rich, hansome, doctor husband who can one day give you all the plastic surgeries you want, and any pills you could ever need.  LOL

But for real, go hang out at the hospital, your a cute girl and can meet some really smart folks there, if you can get over the eww factors of it.

My quick suggestion is perhaps you should try a different approach to meeting guys. If you don't want to meet bad guys, don't go to a the place where bad guys hang out, a club. If you do enjoy dancing, and don't want to grind up on some ugly guy, I strongly recommend swing dancing. Swing dancing is a fun activity that is in nearly every town in America and generally you meet guys who are much more appropriate. I live in Tampa Bay where I can go swing around 20 hours a week and meet plenty of kind girls, and my guy friends there are far nicer than any guy at a nightclub.

The university math department is where I bump into those types. Look for anyone wearing plaid and/or a Clash t-shirt.

your at  A CLUB.. where poeple are drinking..guys are out to have a good time..dance..and party..not talk about quantum physics. Go to a sit down bar or a library or something if you wnat to find a boyfriend...if not..then only expect grind partners at a club...

or was this ust a subconcious way to brag that you have guys who only want you cuz u look good or w/e?..

Some of my friends have had luck meeting amazing and gorgeous guys at Bible study and Chrisitan groups on campus.

I met mine at the local highschool but I was 16 at the time.  Now, I would enroll in a class at the community college, join a book club, or even hang out at the library.  Guys go to clubs for one night stands and to get drunk.  They only dance because they think the girls want to. 

You know check your local library.  Mine is doing a thing in August on Edible wild mushrooms.  There will be a lot of science type people there for that.  You might want to see if your library has any kinds of club or class things going on like that.

 

My friends are all what you'd call "nerds", in that they know a lot about their chosen fields. I go to their parties. The guys there are not only handsome, they're less shallow, more interesting, MUCH more funny and just generally awesome. I met a just-graduated doctor of physics at the last one, and he taught me American style swing dancing at 3am. :D

I have to agree with the suggestion that you're probably looking in the wrong places.

If you're looking for a guy with half a brain, I suggest hanging out with the nerds. Look for roleplayer meetups, or anime clubs. They're geeks, but it sounds like that's what you;'re looking for. :)

And as a geek, I can promise you some of us are pretty decent guys ;D

I agree wil hkellick your looking for geeks, my sons! the really good looking guys that treat you like a lady and take you out and have a great time and help you out when you need it. They are super handsome too, they also have a group of friends that hang out once a week and game that are really good looking nice guys.  These guys feel rejected by most women since during highschool they were high achievers and now have 50-100,00 year jobs, In their 20's and travel the world and have a good time, while all the women are at the bars with jerks or hanging on the jocks in high school.   Sorry, one son it taken, the other has been crazy about this woman from college for 4 yrs and he helped her every time she had to move out of some jerks apt or needed something but she considered him a friend - he  dated around and finally she has realized what she has been missing and they are getting engaged.  Some of the others have recently gotten married and had some kids .  Check out university campus,  anime clubs ( big time selection there). Clubs aren't where your going to find what your looking for.   Also, friends relatives.

I adore really smart men. I'm silly putty when a guy can start a discussion and keep it up about things science related. Or math related for that matter.

I'm not as huge of a fan of the history / english buffs though.

Anywho, a club is not the place to find these guys. Unless you're looking for the guy dragged there by his friends who's standing in a corner by himself the whole night.

If you're there to dance and listen to music and drink, then just accept this as part of the whole scenario. You don't have to stand around and talk to them - walk away.

If you're there to meet men, change your destination.

Wow, I really need to find these girls that are actually attracted to us nerd type guys, trust me, we're out there (Well, I think I exist, and, therefore I am), and we're looking just as hard for you. I totally would talk to you about quantum physics...of course we've learned not to bring that type of thing up, 'cause well, let's be honest, you start talking like that to most girls, they don't care and just move on. But yeah, you won't find us at clubs, even when we do go, we're usually in disguise :P

*chuckles* From one geek to another, do not be afraid of being a geek! To thine own self be true, even if you do think that Picard was a far better captain than Kirk! Or a Mac is a far better computer than a PC! Whoever you are you will (eventually) find a young lady who.. may not agree, but loves you for your geekness. I did. :)

It took me until I was 28 to find such a young lady, but they DO exist!

Haha, a club is a defintely a wrong place to look for (nice) guys.

When I went to college, I joined a group about computers, robots and engineering - everybody there are a geek! That's how I got my major(computer science) and my 2 yr relationship with an amazing guy who is very intelligent, is good looking, is sweet and is very willing to go to clubs with me because I really like dancing.

As of anime club, I have some reservation about that. I am also an anime fan. But just too many weirdos at anime clubs. (at least in my university) and most hardcore anime fans don't bother going to clubs since they just download?

Btw, I don't think it's a good idea to join a club just for a possibility of meeting a guy. Find the inner geek in you first!

Don't go to clubs. If you live in a college town there are probably a bunch of pub-type bars and others that have live music. You'll probably find a ... bigger selection of intelligent guys.

You will not find many intelligent guys in club.

I love nerdy guys! My current boyfriend is a hugggee nerd. I love being able to have an intelligent conversation instead of just talking about how drunk they got the night/week/month before, or how awesome UFC is.
