Uh Oh! Advice Needed!

Quote  |  Reply

So, today I was on my feet almost the entire day. I was dancing... walking.. biking... etc.  I don't know the exact times though...

I normally burn a little over 1400 sedentary. How much more do you suppose I should eat? I really, really don't want to lose weight, but I'm not sure I'd be able to stuff enough down my throat. How many calories should I try and hit?
I don't want to give out my weight and height, but I'm TINY TINY TINY. =P

wistfulxthinking if i remember correctly you are about 98lbs and recovering from an eating disorder... 1400cal is NOT enough, and i know you know this... your body is probably still starving.. the reason that you dont want to give out your height and weight is probably because you knew people will tell you that it is probably not healthy for you, and you dont want to hear that.

if you are as active as you say you are, something around 2000cal a day is probably a more reasonable goal... I went from 1300cal to 1800cal (or more) a day and havent gained a thing in over a month.

I suggest you do try to eat more, and see how you feel.. stray away from the scales for a while though to let your body adjust and not freak out over fluctuations... i am sure that you will feel more energetic and healthy then before, i know i sure do :)

also when you eat more, your body adjusts quite quickly... I get painfully hungry if I eat less then like 1700cal now! I cant even imagine eating 1200cal, let alone 600cal like i used to!

dont worry about not being able to 'stuff it all down'... it's not that difficult. this is your ED talking and your mind playing tricks on you.. you know just as well as i do about the many high cal low volume foods that can help you reach this goal (ie nuts, peanut butter, dried fruit, liquids, protein shakes, ensure, etc.)
