I have a question for the last few days my weight has steadily gone up a pound. I was 117 then 118, 119 and now 120. I don't think I am super over eating the most would be 1400 cals when I need to be taking in 1200. Uhhh...is my metabolism ruined? I had a day where I just ate waaaay too much and since then I keep trying to stick with 1200-1320 cals but I'm gaining. :/ It's awful I just feel bigger and unhappy about this. Pls my appetite is not there and it feels like my stomach has a rock in it. But yet I just can't relax and I work myself up and cannot stop thinking about feeding myself. weird.
think logically, 3500 calories is 1 pound, so if you aren't even eating 3500 calories then it would be impossible to gain anything at all. there is simply more food in your digestive tract hence the gain on the scale. weigh yourself after a really big BM and then you shall see that it really is no big deal and i'm almost positive you should be eating more than 1200 calories, 1400 is probably what you SHOULD be aiming for since 1200 is the bare minimum for sedentary, short, old, females...lol. do you fit this description? with any activity at all you can stand to eat more so if you gain any actual weight on 1400 then yes your metabolism is severely blunted!!
no your metabolic rate is not severely blunted. she's jus scare mongering you. eat a min of 1500. i can only imagine that you would have to be 4'10 to be needing to lose some weight at 120.

You said your stomach feels like it has a rock in it... maybe things aren't coming back out? Also look at hydration as always. I had a rapid weight gain that lasted for like a week, but it was because I ate a TON of salt. My hands felt like sausages I was so bloated. Anyway went back to normal after another week of guzzling water.
Hmmm Ok today I weigh 119 so....I don't know I was not really keeping very god track of calories last week. Humm I will track my calories better and drink more water. I think it might of been just more food in my digestive track.
