This is my second post about christmas, i just can't wait lol. I can't believe all the christmas things are in the shop already.

Anyway, just wondering what everyone's favourite christmas food is?

Mine has to be the little christmas tree/angel/santa shape cookies that you can buy and are decorated with icing.

Green bean casserole, hands down.

  • my mom's coffeecake on christmas morning....mmmmmmmmm
  • my aunt's carrots that she makes when we go celebrate with family; she slices carrots and cooks them with lots of butter and garliccc
  • my other aunt's cheesy potatoes
  • christmas eve cookies that are supposed to be for santa but you end up eating one anyway..
  • my other aunt's trifle "cake"; she puts layers of chocolate pudding, chocolate cake, coolwhip, and chocolate bar shavings in this huge bowl like thing...omgg soo goodd (and yes i have lots of aunts/uncles/cousins)

lovvveeee christmas time :)

Every Christmas my mom makes buttery toffee topped with chocolate and peanut brittle. I was a sugar addict up into I started reigning that in this year, but I am still into nuts so I think I may have a bit of the peanut brittle.

caramel!

mmmmm Christmas

Turkey, Stuffing (DROOL), ham, trifel, chocolates, gravy, sprouts, turkey stuffing and ham sandwiches on christmas night.

Smoked salmon with lemon and black pepper on superquinn brown bread!

Then Baileys and lots more alcohol (to much) :)

Happy Christmas everyone.. feck the calories!

Ok, I have read the all the responces, and I have to thank every one, I have had a really bad flu and havent eaten anything solid in a week. and for the first time I am acctualy hungry.

A little story behind my favorite holiday food. I am not a big eater, I have always been dainty when eating. Exsample, We took my parents to Claimjumpers for there aniversery and my husband got 2 appitizer plates, one was onion rings and the other fire roasted artichokes, I ate the artichokes, (yes I passed on the mayonaise dip) Every thhanksgiving and christmas I dont eat alot because I dont enjoy feeling heavy and tired. I came up with this "recipe" if you will after one thanks giving I wanted food but I didnt want a whole meal because I wasnt feeling great.

A serving of turkey, cubed.

A small serving of corn (can be substituted for anything else)

a small serving of potatoes

and a drizzle of gravy

I have eaten this at every holiday meal and it fills me up with out giving me that heavy feeling..

little sausages wrapped in bacon (pigs in blanket)

Chocolate - it just seems to taste better when it's from a selection box!

Turkey with stuffing

Chicken bones (those cinnamon candies filled with chocolate).  I get a huge bag every year from my grandmother that's enough to last the year :D

And stuffing!  And whatever christmas cookies/bars people are making, and toblerone bars, and anythign lindor and..ugh, I can't wait!

Lutefisk with melted butter and boiled potatoes.

I see last year I put mincemeat.  Well, that's good too.

mashed potatoes! also I love roasted pork/chicken with roasted potatoes and spinach. haha you can tell I like potatoes

Roast turkey with all the the trimmings... stuffing, roasties, yorkshire, gravy, brussels, carrots, red cabbage, bread sauce, cranberry, sausages in bacon... Feast and a half or what :-)

Red cabbage my mum makes - I know I already said it but it deserves a mention of it's own - It's really spicy and sweet and sour!

Christmas pudding and brandy cream!

Ham on the bone

Leftovers! Best leftovers ever and there's always loads hehe.

And yes Emma, selection box choc is always better!

Also since I eat so much I don't have to take any supplements or anything in the xmas season, I just get stuck in to noshing with my family lol x

  • roast ducklings
  • seafood including several kinds of shrimp
  • chocolate-covered peanut clusters
  • chocolate-covered peanuts
  • mixed nuts
  • variety of homemade cookies
  • assorted cheeses and crackers

This would be the typical food we have had on our Christmas Day eating occasions.

PUPPY CHOW!!! I cannot have it this year, and I'm quite sad about it. I'm afraid if I take one bite, I'll devour the entire bowl. I have to make some for my boyfriend, who has never had it! It's going to be hard to resist!

mine is also the cutout sugar cookies with my family frosting recipe yummy my daughter and I will be making them this weekend

What is Puppy Chow?

 heaven in a bowl. Laughing

It's got to be bread sauce. And bubble and squeek on Boxing Day!

TY but you did not answer the question so I looked for the recipe on line. I have had it before but did not know it was called Puppy chow. Up north where I am from we call it Muddy Buddies.

I've recently discovered the Starbucks Eggnog Latte. It's soooooo good. However, I'm warning you to not ask questions you don't want to know that answer too (e.g. nutritional information on that bad boy, it's nasty stuff).Surprised
