sorry that link didnt work. ill just paste it here:
A New Way to Get Rid of Flabby Bellies! Okay. So we're not trying to say that a tummy tuck is a bad thing. But if you want to get rid of your pot belly but don't have the time to take off work or your regular life to recover from a surgical procedure, then you may want to check out a new way to slim down.UltraShape is the newest technology in cosmetic surgery. It's basically a nonsurgical way to eliminate fat deposits in the stomach. While it doesn't tighten up loose skin like a tummy tuck does, it can fight half of the problem by destroying the unwanted fat cells in the stomach.
Patients have described a session as painless, so you don't even need anesthesia! The technology is based on therapeutic ultrasound energy, designed to target only the fat cells in the area. The membranes of the fat cells are disrupted so they release their contents to be processed by the body's natural physiological systems. That's how the area trims down.
You'll probably need about 3 sessions to see desirable results, and when we're talking about results, we aren't talking about something insignificant. We're talking about a measurable reduction in the circumference of your stomach of more than a few centimeters! All of this without the related side effects of a surgical procedure and the administration of anesthesia
Sounds like a total gimic to me. Probably you lose around your belly because your wallet is shrinking, paying for the procedures.
If ultrasound had any capacity to "eliminate fat deposits," everyone would know about it.
Remember that anything that sounds too good to be true is a lie. Losing fat without watching what you eat is definitely too good to be true!
yeh i pretty much felt the same way when i heard about it...jus needed to hear a second opinion. thanks for the input!
I don't think this is a gimick, there have been peer reviewed studies that say it really works. There was a story about it on my local news a few weeks ago. They showed before and after pictures and there was a big difference. The doctor who preformed it had done it on himself and lost several centimeters from his stomach. It isn't meant for overweight people, because if you don't change your habits you'll just gain the fat back. It's meant for people of a healthy weight who still have pockets of fat in certain problem areas. If there is a catch I would say it's the fact that it costs thousands of dollars.
oh really...well that would be perfect for me then! but im still afraid that there mite be risks that noone has really considered yet like increased risk of cancer? im not sure im jus assuming. but im always very apprehensive about these sort of things...you never know what could happen. or i could jus be over reacting lol. do you have any idea how much it would roughly cost? because i havent seen any sort of price range. but its meant to be cheaper than surgery and lipo.
I beleive they said it costs about $1000 a treatment and that you need a minimum of 3. I'm in Canada though, so I'm not sure about costs in the US (I'm assuming that's where you live) or if it's even approved there. I'm sure you can find more info on the internet.
oh i see...nah i live in the UK actually and im pretty sure its been approved here. im guessing it'll be roughly around £500 here if its that much in the US. thats pretty costly though. wont be getting that any time soon. anyway thanks for the info it was really helpful. think ill stick to my healthy diet and exercise thing though it'll come off eventually!
