A yeast infection is an imbalance of the natural flora and fauna in your vulva and vagina, caused by things like diet, sex, washing with soaps down there, etc. There's usually some degree of discomfort down there, and there may be odor or a change in discharge. If you think you have one, go to your doctor.

some degree of discomfort??? LOL...you want to take a crow bar and scratch with it and if you are not careful you will scratch yourself until you bleed!  it is horrible and all consuming!  catch it quick...it gets to that stage QUICKLY!

Geez, you must have some bad yeast infections. I've never had one that's more than mildly uncomfortable.

What is a vaginal yeast infection?

A vaginal yeast infection is irritation of the vagina and the area around it called the vulva (vul-vuh).

Yeast is a type of fungus. Yeast infections are caused by overgrowth of the fungus Candida albicans. Small amounts of yeast are always in the vagina. But when too much yeast grows, you can get an infection.

Yeast infections are very common. About 75 percent of women have one during their lives. And almost half of women have two or more vaginal yeast infections.

oh okay, it said that it looked like cottage cheese (kinda gross), so yea, i just think maybe i just have a lot of discharge or something. cause its not itchy or swelling or anything either.

thats a relief!

If you think you have one, you should go to your dr. first. It could be a yeast infection or something like vaginitis. They can diagnose you properly and give you medication for it...better than the stuff you can buy in the store.

In my experience, a yeast infection starts of as kind of a twinge down there. But then, it can get really itchy to where it's uncomfortable to sleep. It does lead to discharge, which most gals think resembles cottage cheese.

To prevent them, don't wear your sweaty gym shorts or wet undies or swimsuit. Change into something dry. Don't wear tight undies or pants. My sister used to get them from a special feminine soap...wierd huh?

Take care of it right away if you think you have one...the discomfort will make you crazy.

Around ovulation time white mucous discharge is normal.  You will usually see this mid-cycle.

edit

well it definately doesnt look like cottage cheese, but it comes all the time. like its discharge, and it comes everyday. ive had it for a really long time...like since i was a kid. its not itchy, and doesnt smell good, but not HORrible, just kind of annoying

cottage cheese is delicious when mixed with peaches.

It's normal if you have had it for a long time. I have always been a little leaky everyday since I was 13. It's not going away. Ever. So I have just learned to deal with it. Wear those ultra thin maxi's so you don't feel happy down there all day and you could even buy like, vagisil which will stop the wetness for a little while at least.
