Well, after months of calorie counting and the ups and downs that come with it, I've lost 78 pounds. :D

After biting the bullet to spend money, I go out to buy some new underwear, since mine are too big. I used to be about a ...46+ C/D, depending on the brand. What am I now?

38 B! Oh, I was giggling like a school girl. When I saw the bra, I thought, "Who am I kidding, this is not going to fit...ever." But it did, and my boobs are happy and I'm happy. :D Not only that, I bought my first pair of boy shorts. I was never able to buy them, because they were always too small, but not anymore. <3 Even though it's still a big size, I'm more than happy to buy them.

I know no one is going to see these except me, but knowing that I can fit into something "tiny" just makes me giggle.

I think this journey is worth these small moments. <3

You are soooooo RIGHT!  I lost 82 lbs. a couple of years ago and then gained back 29 lbs. (because of chocolate and Stacey's Pita Chips). The thing that was bothering me the MOST was that I could no longer fit into my coveted Size 12 jeans!  (I comfort myself with the thought that Marilyn Monroe wore a Size 12.)  When I hit 189 lbs. I FREAKED OUT!  So I re-started my journey...and have lost 19 of those pounds...and can barely fit into the jeans.  But it's SUCH a satisfying feeling!  I won't let THAT happen again!

Congrats! Bra shopping must be much more fun now. Larger sizes can be hard to find, and stores always seem to have much cuter one in the smaller sizes. I need to get some new bras soon. Right now I'm wearing one I wore 25 pounds ago (although it was a bit tight then) and there is some definite gaping going on.

Ahh, the loveliness of having a smaller size!  Congratulations, you have earned it, and the release from the pain in the back those C/D cups must have been!

Enjoy knowing what you have on under your clothes!Wink

I don't get to shop til the week before school starts but I hope the same thing happens to me. I need a good giggle session.

I have lost 38 lbs in the last few months.  My bra before losing weight was a 42C, latched on the farthest hook.  At intervals during my weight loss, I would latch my bra in a closer hook.  When the closest hook was wasn't providing a good fit for me anymore, I went to JCPenny, and thought I would probably go to a 40B.  To my surprise (pleasingly!) a size 38B fit perfectly!  You are right, the little victories along the way are such motivators!!  Like Kim Benson says, 'Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!'  Hang in there; I am intending to lose about 35 lbs more to reach the weight the charts say I should be at.  One of these days we won't recognize ourselves in the mirror!  I'm already seeing unfamiliar lumps, and come to find out, they are bones I didn't know I had!!

How did you lose 38lbs in a few months?  Wow!!!  Please tell me your secret??   I am having a terrible time losing 5lbs.. :-(

I am counting calories and walking 3 miles 4-5 times a week.  I eat around 1200 calories a day.  I eat anything I want, as long as I keep within the 1150-1250 range.  It is important that you include foods you like, too, because if you try to do it only on traditional 'diet' foods, you get discouraged.  Since I now have the range under control, I am trying to make sure that 20% of my daily calories are protein; I take a daily multi-vitamin to help with nutrition, too.  I am also slowly trying to work an hour of water aerobics in on the days when I don't walk.  Hope this helps...let me know if I can help further, and how you are doing!

Awh congrats! I'm still working towards my goal, and haven't had any major successes yet, besides the fact that I'm feeling healthier every day.

Congrats!!  Those little victories that maybe no one but you knows are so motivating!!  Celebrate and enjoy them!  They keep you going!

Yesterday I had to crawl from the driver seat in my car to the passenger seat to get out....and it was easy!  I could never have done that 53 pounds ago!  lol

Your successes encourage me, too!

yeah for you!  indulge yourself in those "little" secret things.  Those make us feel great.  After only dreaming of being able to wear those types of things to finally be able to is HUGE.

I only dreamed of buying things at Victoria's Secret but at 239 it was not happening.  After losing 71 pounds, not only can I buy there. I can now wear a MEDIUM.

I NEVER thought that day would come.

Good for you!!

"I think this journey is worth these small moments" - I couldn't agree more! It's all about the small pleasures.  Congrats on losing so much weight and being able to fit into "tiny" underwear, good for you girl!

Congratulations, jaefuma!!! And, continued best wishes to all you who posted here about your phenomenal weight losses.  I cannot wait to be able to buy clothes in a store and not have to drive a distance or buy them on line.

I lost 85 pounds in 2004 with the help of this website.  Unfortunately, I got over confident and quit counting.  I gained back 48 pounds!!!!  But, I'm down 28 since May 23rd.  I want to lose the 20 I've still regained, plus at least another 25.  I know I'll never be svelt again, but I'll get to a point where I can live with it.

Thank you all. :)

And congrats to everyone else and their victories!

Should I weight With my clothes on or only in Boxers?  Will it make a difference to how many calories I should eat??

Best Regards

Daniel

Personally, I weigh without clothes.  That way it's consistent.  But, I don't suppose boxers weigh all that much, so I guess it wouldn't matter.  Just be consistent.  Wear or don't wear the same thing every time you weigh.  Just my opinion.

Great Job can not wait until I can buy smaller sizes.... Has been years that I've been in the same size but no more I've only lost 8lbs but I feel that this time I can do it.Laughing
