Under my daily calories
Everyday I strive to eat around 1500 calories. Today I was really busy and hardly ate as much as I usally do. I just got done logging in my calories and it is around 800. I ran 3 miles today too. It's late right now and i'm not hungry.
This happens to me like about 3or 4 times a month where I am way below my cals.
Is this okay? I don't want to put my body into starvation mode. I'm wondering if I sould eat 700 calories right now even though i'm not hungry... or would this just make me gain weight??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!![]()
i ate about 900 calories within the last 2 hours of being awake last night because i was under my calories, i think it's pretty important to be consistent with your intake and notice when you're not eating enough during the day...to only eat 800 calories in a day requires some serious negligence...no offense...keep trail mix, energy bars, or something with you at ALL times to prevent this from happening. if you're out and have to stop at a gas station to purchase some nuts, a yogurt, a chocolate milk or something as a snack then do it but i'd really try to eat at least 1200...if you can;t get the entire 700 calories in then that's understandable but a couple tbsp of peanut butter on 1 slice of bread is 300 calories, if you have a handful of nuts that adds almost 200 calories more so it can be done. anyway, i hope you ate because i realize this post is probably coming a bit too late!!
Its fine to eat fewer calories for one day, or even three. Your body doesn't go into starvation mode after one day of low calories.
I have the same problem most days and it isn't because of negligence, but because I just don't think about eating when I am busy. I find I lose more weight when I hit my daily caloric goal than when I don't, so that in itself is motivation for me to remember to eat. I actually gain weight when I don't hit my intake goal, so make an effort to hit your caloric intake a bit earlier in the day. I make an effort to have consumed most of my calories by eight in the evening. I also try to enter what I am going to eat in my food log by ten in the morning, so I know exactly what I have to eat to meet my goal(I haven't done that yet today, and I am behind...not good).
Can I do OA with Calorie Count?
Keeping food logs and counting calories is completely compatible with OA. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) advocates abstinence in-between... Read more
