Under 25 with over 25 to lose.

Hi.
There are not many groups for younger people, I guess because we're kind of the minority on this site (or so it seems at least). Further, I have never seen a group to really motivate those who are both young, with more than a little shaping up to do (10-15 lbs)

My name is Amelia I am 16 years-old, 5'9, 209 lbs, and I hope to get to 145 by March. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and my biggest motivation is looking as good on the outside as I feel on the inside(cheesy, I know).

So, if you want to join, leave your

Name(or nickname if you'd rather):
Height/weight:
Goal
Age:
Location:
Biggest Motivation

I'm not expecting big thing from this group seeing hopw little of the Calorie count population fits this criteria.

cheers!

Edit:
I figured we could add a weekly weigh in to add a little extra push and for support (i guess?)

How about Tuesday weigh ins, post with your:

Start weight:
Current weight:
Pounds left until goal:

And, to get a little chat going, what's your workout plan, any tips or secrets to share?

My name is Ashley

I'm 5'6"  and about 180lbs (I really have no idea...)

My goal is 150 tos tart wit

I'm 19

I live in Hoboken, NJ

I want to do this so I don't feel as sluggish and tired and am happy when I look in the mirror.
My name is Mari

I'm 5'3" tall and 183 pounds. I started out this time last year at 270 pounds.

My goal is about 125. I've never been that thin, so I'm not exactly sure what my goal is, but this is what C-C estimates.

I'm 24.

I live in Boston, MA.

I have two major motivations: I want to be thin and healthy for the first time in my entire life to experience life less hindered by my weight, and I want to complete (and maintain) my weight loss by next spring in preparation to (hopefully) join the Peace Corps in August 2008.

P.S. Nani - I just moved from Orlando, FL... Go UCF Knights!
Hi all,

My name is Becki.

I'm 5'7'' and currently weigh 251 lbs, down from 275.

My goal right now is 170, and then I'll see if I need to lose more; I've weighed more than that for my entire adult life, so I can't even picture it.

I'm 21.

I live in Littleton, MA.

My biggest motivation right now is my wedding this October, but I know I won't be thin by then, and I plan to keep losing after that until I'm at a healthy size.
(this is also added to the top post)

I figured we could add a weekly weigh in to add a little extra push and for support (i guess?)

Hi everyone! I'd like to join this group too :)

My name is Christine

Height/weight: 5'4", I started CC about a month ago at 149 and now I'm 141 (woohoo!)
Goal: 120
Age: 21
Location: VA
Biggest Motivation: to look better! I've gained some weight during college, and I'd like to get rid of it, plus a little more. Also, I'm getting married next summer and would like to reach my goal a few months before then.

What i've been doing so far diet wise is cutting out junk food, eating more protein and less carbs, and trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies. I tried South Beach for a week but I didn't like it because I felt drained and had less energy, so now I'm just trying to eat fewer carbs.

I just got a Gold's Gym membership in June, so I've been exercising 4 to 5 times per week. I'm doing some lifting and ab exercises, and I also use the elliptical for about 50 minutes.

I've been at a plateau for the past week, but I'm hoping to get past it soon. Only 21 pounds to go!
Hi..I'd like to join this group too! Sounds fun! (as fun as weight loss can get!)

Name: Maryam..my friends call me Mary
Height: 5'2
Weight: 132
Goal: 108
Age: 17
Location: Ontario, Canada
Hi everyone!

I'd like to join this group also.  I was doing really well with my weight loss then had a very stressful move across the country and gained (sigh) most of it back.  But tomorrow is the day I get back in the saddle and get back to losing weight.

Name: Kate
Height: 5'4
Weight: 159 lbs
Goal: 120 lbs (by Christmas, so I will stop getting *that look* from my family)
Age: 24 -- I *just* slid in under the age limit, haha!
Location: Outside of Dallas, Texas

Christine, I think we're body/goal twins! :)

I'm finally moved, and finally settled.  I've just joined a Lifetime Fitness in the area and that place is like, the size of an airplane hanger so I'm hopeful that sparkling beacon of healthfulness will keep me on track!
Name:Julz
Height/weight: 4' 10(.5)"      166lbs
Goal weight: 140 short term; 113 long term
Age:22
Location:Central California
Biggest Motivation: I want to have a healthy BMI and i just set up a reward for myself: once i reach 140 lbs im going to go through with lasik surgery (i've been wanting it forever!)
Workouts: I just use a stationary bike, elliptic and swimming

other stuff: my net calorie intake is suppossed to be 1225, and some tips/secrets are that I dont deprive myself If I really want something and think its worth the calories I have just a few bites, or make a healthier alternative. Also when you eat out take at least a third home or just dont eat eat 1/3 of it!
Kate, it sounds like we are twins! It's cool to hear from some other 5'4" people who have the same goal weight! Good luck on reaching your goal. As of this morning I am down 9 pounds and have only 20 more to go - I'm very excited :)

Hey everyone,

My name's Kayle. I am 5'5 , 18 years old and weigh 136 lbs. It sounds like I don't have a lot of weight to lose but really I do. I have a very small frame and was always a really thin person until the last two years of high school when my physical activity level decreased dramatically due to 2 knee injuries and surgeries and my eating also became out of control. I have flab in places I never have before and I can't stand it. My goal is 108 lbs because this is what I used to weigh. I used to wear a size 0 or 1 and now I am wearing sizes 4 or 6. I absolutely cannot go out in my swim suit like I used to love doing at the beach with my friends, so I decided it's time to do something. My goal is to accomplish my 28 lb. weight loss by the time I leave for college on August 17th. If not all 28 lbs I hope to be down a lot before going to college because that is my motivation. I want to be able to buy new school clothes and meet new people looking like my old thin self again.
hey hey!!! YAY at last something for out kinda ages!! woop woop!

Height/weight: 5'0" , 120 lbs
Goal weight: 108-110
Age:24

Biggest Motivation: i want to look sexy with lean muscles and a tight bod! :)
Workouts: treadmill, ellipitical, biking, pilates, medicine ball, exercise ball, videos, weights

other stuff:  PILATES works!  you just have to be consistent with it
I dont eat stuff with "apparent" sugars in it but you just can't avoid it altogether, Im pretty good about not eating bad carbs but sometimes i have to... alcohol is probably my downfall...
Name: Carlin
Height/Weight: 5'9" and 159 pounds (My highest weight was 195)
Goal: 140 pounds
Age: 17 (I'll be 18 next month)
Location: Michigan, USA
Motivation: I've been overweight my whole life and I'm sick and tired of being the fat girl. I want to have a healthy body image and I am willing to do the hard work to get it. Also, I want to look good for my senior year of high school!

If anyone wants to know of any exercise ideas, I find that the biggest loser workout dvds are really effective. They burn the first couple of times after you do them but it's worth it!!
name: jess

height/weight: 5'3 and 127lbs

goal: 110lbs

age: 18

location: BC, canada

motivation: i have bulimia, after three years of anorexia where i was hanging around 80ish pounds, after being overweight at about 160lbs...i want to lose some weight and gain some self confidance and fit into my clothes again...basically i would like to look in the mirror and be okay with myself.
Name: Bernadette

Height/Weight: 5`6 and 155 pounds

Goal: 130 pounds or until I can feel good about myself again

Age: 20

Location: Ireland

Motivation: I used to be very thin ( i was anorexic) a few years ago and since I`ve been eating I just piled on the weight. I just want to look good and feel good, and be healthy. I do not want to be scarily thin though, its not a good look! I`ve started capoeira which is fantastic! I`d definately recommend it as a form of fitness! And I try to eat fruit instead of sweets...I`ve been eating pretty healthily for a few weeks and was really disgusted when I weighed myself and haven`t lost anything at all! Has this happened to anyone else?
Oh and i`m sick of my mother asking me if I`m pregnant while looking at my stomach!ggrrr!:)
Name: Jackie

Height/Weight: 5`5 and 170 pounds.  I started on this website last week but began my diet at the beginning of June and was 190.

Goal: The website has me looking at 133 pounds, but I think I would be happy at 140.  I'll see when I get closer.

Age: 22

Location: New Jersey

Motivation: I don't want the first thing people think of me to be that I am fat.  I saw some pictures of me when I was partying with friends two months ago and was very unhappy with how I looked and felt.  I want to feel more my age and have more energy.  I already feel happier, fit in old clothes and just can't wait to loose more.
Name: Joy

Height/weight: 5'4" and 152 lbs (started at 178 in January, lost 15, gained 10, and lost 20, and now plateaued for about 6 weeks :-p )

Goals: Short term, 145 (healthy BMI for the first time!); ultimately, not sure. I doubt I'll go much lower than 135, because my frame is pretty big and some of my bones are already a little closer to the surface than I'd prefer.
Age: 19

Location: Northern Illinois

Biggest Motivation: In the beginning, it was not wanting to get any closer to 200. In January my weight went up for the first time I can remember, and I kind of freaked out because while I was sort of okay with my body (which I attribute to not being able to see most of it past my boobs), I did not want to get any bigger. Now my main motivations are my supportive boyfriend who deserves the best, an increase in my own self-worth (so I think I deserve it, too), and wanting clothes shopping to be easier and a more positive experience than it has been in the past.
