Under 25 with over 25 to lose.
Hi.
There are not many groups for younger people, I guess because we're kind of the minority on this site (or so it seems at least). Further, I have never seen a group to really motivate those who are both young, with more than a little shaping up to do (10-15 lbs)
My name is Amelia I am 16 years-old, 5'9, 209 lbs, and I hope to get to 145 by March. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and my biggest motivation is looking as good on the outside as I feel on the inside(cheesy, I know).
So, if you want to join, leave your
Name(or nickname if you'd rather):
Height/weight:
Goal
Age:
Location:
Biggest Motivation
I'm not expecting big thing from this group seeing hopw little of the Calorie count population fits this criteria.
cheers!
Edit:
I figured we could add a weekly weigh in to add a little extra push and for support (i guess?)
How about Tuesday weigh ins, post with your:
Start weight:
Current weight:
Pounds left until goal:
And, to get a little chat going, what's your workout plan, any tips or secrets to share?

Hello:) I'm Abby and I just started using Calorie Count yesterday
I'm 5' 4" 162 lbs
My goal is 128.2 lbs (according to CC). But my ultimate goal is back to 115 like I used to be. not sure how possible that is.
I'm 16 and I live in Florida
My biggest motivation is feeling good about myself as well as being healthy and getting a boyfriend! I want to be able to like pictures of myself that aren't of just my face, but of all of me. I've been overweight for most of my life, but not ALL of it so I know that I can do it, I just have to commit and get back on track!

Hi there! I prefer to just go by Galax for now, if that's all right.
Height: 5'9"
Weight: I don't own a scale, but it ranges from 300 to 330, I think.
Goal: I don't really know. I put down 150 for the site.
Age: 22
Location: Idaho
Biggest motivation: Well, I've always, always been fat. I mean ever since I was a baby. I never really felt uncomfortable with it by myself, but it always seems to taint other peoples' opinions of me no matter what I do. I just don't want to be "the fat girl" anymore. Other than that, I think I'm most looking forward to being able to go clothes shopping without having to limit myself to Torrid and Lane Bryant!
I'm actually not entirely sure whether this will even work. Left to my own devices, I don't eat very much. Since starting this, I've been forcing myself to eat more calories. Of course, I'm getting more fruits and veggies in now than I was before, so I suppose that will help. Still, I feel really strange eating this much. I always thought I should be eating less if I wanted to lose weight, but I guess the theory is that my body thought it was starving so it had a death grip on my fat or something. I don't know. I just hope this doesn't make me gain weight!
Also, I don't know what my goal should be. This site said that based on the size of my wrist I have an average frame, but I'm not sure if that's true. I can already feel my ribs on my sides, and I seem to have an awfully big pelvis. (Childbearing hips, even though I don't have kids!)
I have genetic bone problems in my wrists and knees, so I'm kind of limited in what forms of excercise I can do without hurting myself. Fortunately, my apartment complex has a pool! So, I've been swimming laps for 1 hour every day. I could probably do 2 hours if I tried, but my husband doesn't think I should push myself too hard. What do you think? Is 1 hour enough?
Sorry for the length of my post!

Hey everyone! Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is weigh in day!
Hey, I'll be happy to join in!
My name is Laura, I'm 5'8" and 195.5lbs at the moment (and so happy about it!)
My overall goal weight is 130, kinda a dream, but this site says it can be a reality by May 2008!
I just turned 20 in June, and I live in Vermont (and not it's not part of Canada, it is really a US state! hah)
My biggest motivator is kicking genetics to the curb, as both my parents are overweight, also the idea of finally losing the weight that I gained while bedridden and on steroids that has been the bane of my existace for 6 years (I like being a bit dramatic too!)
I'll get a jumpstart on my weigh in, since it is technically Tuesday.
My start weight was officially 201.5, and after a weekend of some bad food choices, I still managed to lose one more pound so I am 195.5 as of this morning!
I have a mini goal of 180lbs, so 15.5lbs till that... but still another 65.5lbs to go till I hit my goal weight!
For workouts I've done a bit of HIIT at the gym on the bike, and running around the neighborhood. I also bought some wicked cheesey exercise/dance videos which are way too hilarious for words, and actually use them sometimes. (I think one is called dance of the pounds, or inches or something..... seriously cheesy with their overly hip-y moves!) I also swim when our pool isn't icey cold (which has been everyday lately, as it hasn't been very sunny!)
A tip from me is to allow yourself either one 'cheat' snack a day, or one 'cheat' day a week in order to prevent binging on something you're 'not allowed' to eat when the craving gets too strong. I, for one, had a serving of ice cream today, and managed easily to still be under my 1550 calorie goal.

You aren't alone, julz85.
It took me nearly a year to lose 20lbs. That's like...a little more than a pound a month. I did really bad today food wise. I just don't know what's what. It's hard. You just need to keep going! We're all going to get there eventually! But we have to keep our heads up and keep going!

Good morning everyone! It's our Tuesday weigh-in, so here are my stats:
Height: 5'4"
Start weight: 149
Current weight: 139.4
Pounds left until goal: 19.4
I'm very excited because as of this morning I'm no longer considered "slightly overweight" - I'm now in the healthy weight range! BMI: 23.9. Yay! Also, now I have less than 20 pounds to lose.

Hey all, here are my Tuesday stats!
Start weight: 159
Current weight 158 (it's TOM -- I'm all bloaty, this will be better next Tuesday when I deflate ...)
Pounds left until goal: 38
My current issue is that I just. want. to. eat. everything! It always happens around this time of the month, so working to overcome this is almost as big a challenge as getting my booty to the gym.
My goal for next week is 155 pounds.
Good luck this week everyone!

It's Tuesday weigh in time!
Height: 5' 4"

I'm pretty happy, I just started a couple of days ago! And although I feel super sore all over, those exercises I've been doing are worth it in the end! I've been swimming a bit and renting a bunch of workout vidoes from netflix.
Laura (lala7819), I think I rented that video, the Dance off the Inches! Haha It was hard to do the dance because I kept buckling over laughing at how cheesy it is.
Good luck everyone and "see" you next time!

Galax i think that 1 hr per day is great to start out with! I set my first excercise goal kind of low compared to that! it is to walk the dog 3 times a week for 30-45 min each time.
Have you ever tried water aerobics? Maybe you could switch it up and do laps for part of the time and aerobics for the other part. I'm sure you could find some instructions online if you google water aerobics.
Good luck!!!!!

Thanks, Alyson! I'll look that up!
Since I don't have a scale, I can't weigh in right now, but I'm sewing some reusable grocery bags for my mother, so maybe I can jump on her scale when I bring them over to her this afternoon.
Oh, man, I've got to see this dance video. It sounds hilarious!
And Laura? I know exactly what you mean about genetics. My whole family is fat! I want to do this right, though. My parents are always going on and off fad diets (like Atkins) and their weight just yoyos. I hope that if I go about this in the most basic, scientific way possible (calories in/calories out) that maybe I can stick to it and get the weight to stay off! After all, it's not like I gain much, so hopefully once I get it lower I can maintain it.
