There are not many groups for younger people, I guess because we're kind of the minority on this site (or so it seems at least). Further, I have never seen a group to really motivate those who are both young, with more than a little shaping up to do (10-15 lbs)

Hi, I think this group would be a good idea. I have been having a horrible time loosing weight i gained in the past 9months from binge eating. I was having a lot of emotional issues and I have tried hard to combat the cravings and feelings. I still have days were i will eat too much, and recently I am afraid im falling into the same habits. However I am meeting with a dietian to see if they can help me with my food planning... maybe feel like there is someone that might keep me on track. But i am also looking for people who are having similar problems and would like to"tag" team.

Biggest Motivation: I have gotten as low as 137 and still felt I need some toning and a few less pounds but I felt great. My self esteem went back up (has been down for most my life) and I like feeling like I look hot some days instead of feeling chubby. I just feel like I looked fat and I was so unhappy for so many years I am 24 now and I should look my best now so I can enjoy for as long as possible. Since loosing weight I get sick a lot less and I also am not dressed anymore. I will say not being depressed anymore has way more to it than the weight but the helped a lot. I also enjoy being living proof to all those people that say it's not really possible that it is if they would just put forth the effort. I guess to sum it up looking really good makes me feel really good.

Biggest Motivation: I was really motivated in january. I was going to lose a lb a week. I was so spot on. going to work out, eat right and kick butt. Well school happened, and life happened and afte rI lost 15 lbs and was at my lowest weight as an adult, I got cocky. I stopped counting and said, I can do this by myself. no counting, excersise slowed down, and then I got really lazy. Now I am back up 10 lbs, and the year is more than half way over. I am super motivated now, and I know I can do this. I will do this.
My plan is 10 mins elliptical and 20 mins of bike work 4 times a week. hopefully I can stick with it this time.

Biggest Motivation: My family doc set me up with a bariatric doc and I found out my BMI was 44.7 and that I was morbidly obese. That shocked me to no end. Also, when I wasn't able to fit onto one of my favourite roller coasters at an amusement park. I was so upset. I vowed to lose my excess weight so I can fit onto my favourite roller coasters with some extra space as well.
Plan: 1700 cal/day (600 cal deficit/day), 90+grams of protein/day. Work out 3 or 4 times/week: 15 mins on the treadmill, 20 minutes of weight machines, and 30 minutes of the elliptical trainer. As well as making little changes like walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator, etc.
hey i wanted to join in, i'm lala i'm 23 years old i weigh 220, my long term goal is128, short term for the moment is 200 if i can get there that'll make me happy i think once i get under the 200 mark things will start to go better, i work out everyday atleast 30 minutes a day if not more i switch up my routines, and i count my calories and make sure i get in a sufficient enough ammount to keep me going but to make sure i burn that weight, good luck to all you girls on your journey.- lala

Biggest Motivation: Well, I've actually already lost 10 pounds (I've been working out regularly since about January) and the feedback I've gotten has been tremendous. It's this whole awesome circle of you feel better about yourself and are more confident so people are more attracted to you so you feel even better! Anyway, that's part of it, plus obviously I want to look good. The other major motivator is that I want to be healthy. I had kind of a breast cancer scare last spring (thinking you feel a lump = does not a pleasant spring break make) and even though, thank god, it turned out to be nothing, I realized that I must must must take care of myself and get healthy.

I really surpised myself. I worked out hard this past weak, but have taken the last 2 days off to rest, and I lost, wow. I did really good this week. Now, I just have to stick with it. I hope to lose one lb this coming week. I know if I keep track of my intake and work out, I can do it.
