Under 25 with over 25 to lose.
Hi.
There are not many groups for younger people, I guess because we're kind of the minority on this site (or so it seems at least). Further, I have never seen a group to really motivate those who are both young, with more than a little shaping up to do (10-15 lbs)
My name is Amelia I am 16 years-old, 5'9, 209 lbs, and I hope to get to 145 by March. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and my biggest motivation is looking as good on the outside as I feel on the inside(cheesy, I know).
So, if you want to join, leave your
Name(or nickname if you'd rather):
Height/weight:
Goal
Age:
Location:
Biggest Motivation
I'm not expecting big thing from this group seeing hopw little of the Calorie count population fits this criteria.
cheers!
Edit:
I figured we could add a weekly weigh in to add a little extra push and for support (i guess?)
How about Tuesday weigh ins, post with your:
Start weight:
Current weight:
Pounds left until goal:
And, to get a little chat going, what's your workout plan, any tips or secrets to share?

Hey, I just wanted to congradulate everyone whi was down this week.
Thanks to Christine for starting us off with the weigh-ins.
I was at the gym this morning and it totally slipped my mind to weigh myself. and I do not trust my bathroom scale one bit. So I'll post it tomorrow. (which is just fabulous, because I started the group...)

Abby (Lalalalalala6) - Right now I'm watching the dance off the inches tummy tone party zone..... also hillarious! Notice I said watching, not doing... Stinks but I can't do it now cause I have PT for my knee today, and I'm not supposed to do too much beforehand.
I'm so happy, I have a new Tuesday weigh in... apparently I was retaining water from my junky weekend or somethig, because I am down another pound from yesterday!
Start weight: 201.5
Current weight: 194.5
Pounds left until goal: one pound less than yesterday!! (64.5?)

Current weight: still 196.6...it was over the course of one day so water weight I am guessing...and it doesn't help that TTOM of right around the corner.
Pounds left: 46, short term goal 16 pounds.

Is it to late for me to join?
I can't see any reason why it would be too late!
I'm on depo-provera, so I don't have to worry about TTOM, but one of the side effects is weight gain. I hope it doesn't throw me off too much!

considering I started my diet last wednesday and it's been just a little under a week I'm really happy with my two pound weight loss. Even though it's probably all or mostly water weight since it's been so hot out and I've been laying out on the beach sweating. I have been eating 1300 cals a day and havent broken my diet so far so I feel great all ready!

Hi! My name is Bethany. My sister introduced me to this site back in March. Unfortunately, I didn't do much with it then. I am very excited that I found this group! Thank you Amelia!
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 172.5
Age: 24
Goal: 120
Location: Milan, MI, USA
Biggest Motivation: I am doing this because I am not happy with my appearance. I just want to be comfortable with myself. I have gone shopping a million times in the past couple of months to find clothes that fit me and have left the store every time with nothing. What is the point of buying new clothes if you don't like the way you look in them? I DREAD getting dressed for work in the morning, I am so depressed with my weight. I am happily married and we have a 10 month old son. Life is great except for my weight issue. Another HUGE motivation for me, is that I want to lose weight before we start trying for a second child. Sounds silly, I know. But having a baby has completely changed my body and I just can't imagine being pregnant again on top of all the weight I am already carrying!

Hey thr, I am electrika and I live in Virginia. I was really excited to see this group. It is true that there arent a lot of people our age with a lot to loose here.
I am about 5' 2" and weigh 168 lbs. I want to loose about 45 lbs . Though my main goal is to et my PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) under control.
When I heard that I had PCOS I was extremely depressed. But my doctor assured me that weight loss coupled with exercise could help me a lot. Also I want to be able to go to a store ,pick out a dress and actually fit into it. It gets tiring to ask /look for a bigger size all the time.

Had my weight watchers weigh in yesterday, lost 4lb so YAY. Now 234lb, can't wait until i go down a dress size- my jeans fit better (i don't struggle to do them up anymore)
Lost total: 23lb.

Name: Megs (delve_deeper)
Height/Weight: 5'5''/165 lbs
Goal: MINI GOAL IS TO LOSE 10-15 LBS (WEIGH 155-150 LBS) BEFORE SCHOOL IN LATE SEPT, ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO LOSE 30 LBS (WEIGH 135 LBS)
Age: 18
Location: Soon to be the UO
Biggest Motivation: I was always a bit bigger than my friends--throughout grade school, middle school, high school... but there was always one girl that we hung around with that was just a bit bigger than me. It wasn't until this past year that I realized I was now the biggest friend in the pack. That change, as subtle and over time as it was, was enough to make me feel like less of a person, especially when I was being compared to all of my friends. The fact that I'm classified as "slightly overweight" bothers me. I'd like to have a healthy BMI and be in a normal weight class. I'll always be curvier than most girls, which I love and don't want to lose. But I'd like to be healthy AND curvy. With college just a few month away, it's important for me to start now, so I don't get lost in the freshman 15, and so I take advantage of all of the healthy opportunities in Eugene.

When i was younger i was really thin everyone used to ask if i was anorexic and that i looked like a skeleton?!?! I hated how people used to say that all the time when i wasn't even close(i have a large frame and was thin but the ppl who used to say that weren't that skinny either)...so i wanted to gain weight and i did but way too much!!! Now I want to look nice and toned not fat nor anorexic. I also want to be as thin as my friends cause they are all slim and i feel bad when i look at my self in the mirror. I used to weigh 190lbs during December but now i'm down to 170. I've been working really hard to get to 140, and i'll get there. i've had some times where i don't feel like doing exercises but then i realize that i need to if i want to reach my goal! i'm in a 1400 calorie diet right now and i just started logging my calories in here yesturday but i've been writing them down on paper. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU! i haven't weighed my self for about a week, cause i try to do it only once a week but this week i got my period so i have to wait until i'm off of it.

Hi! i'm Morgan.
Height: 5'7
Current weight: 215
Start weight: 222
Goal: 140
Age: 15
Location: Fairview Heights, IL
Motivation: Since I'll be able to go to prom this year, I want to be able to buy a cute dress... and have a date. And I hate not being able to buy cute clothes... I dread shopping because of my size. Next semester I'm taking gym, so I want to be in shape by then.

Enigma.
Height: 5'4
Current weight: 214
Goal: 150 (They said 128, but I know if I say that, I'll feel like I'll never be able to achieve that!)
Age: 20
Location: Wisconsin
Motivation: So I'm new to this site, as in today new. I was reading the posts before me and well, I won't lie. I feel a little bad since I'm bigger than most of the people posting.
I've always been "big-boned" (ridiculous since everyone has the same size bones) but was active in volleyball, track, and working out. My weight has fluctuated but in my early teens I struggled with severe depression and was put on some meds and I gained about 20 pounds in a month. After that it became more difficult to lose it. I felt like I couldn't do it. I gained even more weight after graduating highschool. I can't even be sure what contributed to my weight gain, except that I think I have the kind of body type where I really need to watch my intake and make sure I'm being physically active- EVERY day.
I've had guys be into me, which is crazy since I don't feel very pretty. But I have a "pretty face" and "great" personality.
Right now I don't think I could be in a relationship with anyone. I don't feel confident about the way that I look. I don't want someone to feel embarrassed to be with me, either.
I want to have more than just a pretty face, and have a decent body and be able to be more active like I had been before.
So I got a new cannondale and the last week have been pushing 10-20 miles a day. I've also been doing more walking and keeping a food journal, which is partly why I really liked this site! It calculates it all. No way to underestimate there! :)
Another motivating factor is I've been getting into the outdoors stuff and I don't want to feel like I can't do something because I'm not physically fit. For my height/weight ratio I'm actually pretty capable, which surprises me but makes me feel good. I would like to attend a backpacking trip, and you have to be in decent shape. I'm hoping to accomplish this by May of 2008.
Sorry this was SO long, I've never felt comfortable really discussing it. No one's ever really called me fat (I am) or brought it up, and when I mention needing to be more active everyone is like, "oh you're fine." Well no. No I'm not.
I wanted to get this all off my chest. It's gonna be great having a sort of support group!
