Hi.
There are not many groups for younger people, I guess because we're kind of the minority on this site (or so it seems at least). Further, I have never seen a group to really motivate those who are both young, with more than a little shaping up to do (10-15 lbs)

Let me just say right now how much I hate eating at resteraunts. They need to get with the times and put out nutritional information. I knew Red Robins doesn't put out information so I chose to go to Black Angus which I wasn't sure of but turns out, they don't put it out either! I wound up way overestimating my lunch calories and feeling mildly annoyed at food in general.

Sorry, just felt like ranting a bit about that.
Anyone else had problems like this?

It's frustrating going to a restaurant and ordering something that you think is healthy - and it has more calories than you exepected and you weigh more the next morning! That just happened to me at Le Madeline with their Chicken Salad croissant.

Weight: approx 160 (I was 145 before I went on a 6-week holiday and I can't even deal with the fact that my scale said 160 when i got back)

Goal:  as low as possible (3 yrs ago i was 110....its been going up since then) preferably 120 because I'm small-framed, but realistically under 140 by Christmas so I can wear a prettier bathing suit and not feel like a whale.


I told my mum that I weigh 160 and she doesn't believe. She says I look about 135. My bf also thinks I weigh much less than I really do....I wonder why that is??

My whole life i've been bigger than people my age, not fat mind you (seriously, didn't gain wait til my teen years,) and everyone always thought i was older than i was. I've always weighed more than i look (muscle weighs more than fat!) and trust me, it is a good thing! And you might have to remember that these are probably two people who love you very very much, so i'm sure they don't see the extra weight you see.

That being said, i hate being fat too!!!

Biggest Motivation: doing well in my triathlon in september and losing weight so i can do even better in my next one

Yep, I'm training for a triathlon. It is Sep 7 and I am really excited but nervous about it. I am training, and will be steppin up the training the next month to make sure i'm ready. I have a sprint triathlong that is just for fun in a week and I am goign to kick my ass to get ready for it. I have lost 30 pounds so far adn would like to lose another 55. i'm putting on a lot of muscle right now and am much thinner than i was in jan but i still want to look a lot better. so that's me! hopefully i can lose at least another 25 pounds by teh end of the year!
Well, I never posted my stats last week.  This is really sad, but I don't have a computer at home.  Work has been too busy for me to do anything personal.  I did horrible the week before last and ate what I wanted, when I wanted.  The bad news is, I didn't lose any weight. But the good news is that I didn't gain any either. I am really excited for tomorrows weigh in.  I feel I did pretty well last week.  The weekends are seriously SO hard for me.  Why does life revolve so much around food?  It doesn't help any that I love to eat either! LOL!  I went to 2 cookouts over the weekend and also had chinese take out last night.  I didn't over eat, just didn't make the best decision as to what I was eating.  I am hoping that tomorrow there will still be a "loss" despite my poor decisions over the weekend.  I feel good about things.  Mostly because for the first time in my life I am realizing that I must be patient.  That I am not going to lose 50 pounds over night.  I am starting fresh today, unlike my usual attitude of "well I blew it yesterday so I might as well indulge today too!".  Hope everyone survived the weekend, good luck with tomorrows weigh in!
Tomorrow's a weigh in day. What are you anticipating? I'm hoping my weight either won't change from what it is today, or will go down. I've been eating pretty good and I am hoping that will help.
Wow!!! I LOVE this thread!  I was just thinking of starting one, but I think this sums up my current situation perfectly!

My name is Casey, i'm 21 and my stats are as follows:

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 200

Goal: 170

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Motiviation: I'm happier when i'm healthier!  I am in a wonderful relationship, and I've found that the only way for it to get any better is to really improve myself from the inside out!!! So, i'm doing this for MYSELF!

I go to the gym just about every day.  At the moment I am doing 10 minutes of cardio followed by 30 mins of weight training and then 30 mins of cardio on mon weds fri, and then just 30 mins of cardio on tues and thurs.  Usually during the weekend I kayak! =0)

I am so glad to see some people our age on here really getting serious about getting some extra weight off!

Well all weekend I jumped up 2 pounds and spent the last few days losing that, so I guess in a way I lost wiehgt and in a way I didn't....oh well there is always next week.

Motivation: I've always been the overweight girl in school, with all my friends, everything. I don't want to be seen as that anymore. I want to lose weight and be healthy and stop feeling the need to wear t-shirt and jeans everywhere I go. I'd like to just be completly happy for once :)
I missed a weigh in or 2 due to doing mine on Thursdays.
