The 25th of this month will be 9 months of using cc. Without it, this would not have been possible!!! Brief overview: 40 year old female, 5'5". Started at 194, almost size 18. Now, 128, size 4, by the 25th hoping for 125, size 4. I do not want to lose any more weight at that point, but am worried about switching to maintence mode. Still planning on using cc daily as I have for the past 9 months, but need clarification. Do I use my burn meter number (1570 without activity) as my daily calorie goal? I work in a very busy deli 5 days a week and have been logging it as bartending, standing at work, etc., which doesn't seem right either as I am constantly moving, but that along with my light housework takes me to a burn meter of about 2030. Seems like a lot to maintain. Am I figuring this right? HELP!
For maintainence, you would want to eat around the amount you burn. Keep in mind that a calorie defecit is what lost you the weight... And eating under what you burn will continue to do that, unless its a negligible amount. If you burn 5000 calories a day (a huge, unlikely number, I know) and wanted to maintain, you'd need to take in 5000 calories, give or take a few. Anything you burn, you'd need to eat back.
If it seems like a lot, try slowly upping your intake. Say you eat 1400 now. Try upping that to 1600, get used to eating that much. Then try upping that to 1800. (etc). Whole grains, nuts, and avocados are great ways to get your calories up in a healthy way, for a small enough portion to feel like you're not eating a lot. For example, if you eat cottage cheese as a snack, try to have some Triscuits on the side. My normal brand of cottage cheese (per serving) has 90 cals, and the crackers have 120... That's 210 cals, on a small (but satisfying) snack!
thank you. I think I can handle that, and great snack ideas.
