Underweight..but maintaining?
Where my calorie needs are now, it says I need at 1500-1700 calories a day to maintain, and 1264 to lose (assuming I be sedentary)
For the past couple of months I've been plenty lower than that. Around 700-1200. If I bump up,lets say to at least 1400, will I lose/mantain/gain?
Thanks in advance (:

you would probably gain. since your bodys metabolism has already
adjusted and stuff, making such a great increase like that would mess
it up. i would suggest upping your calorie intake slowly, increase
maybe every four or five days.. or week, by 200 - 300? just take it
slow. upping it too quickly will mess your body up.
and dont always listen to what the online calculators tell you. they are based on general stats. see what works for you, but try not to consume under 1200, that is too great of a deficit.

You are probably in starvation mode, which means your body has lowered your metabolism to survive on so little food. Look it up in the library section, there are plenty of articles about starvation and how to fix it floating around on the forums.
You wont gain. If you do, increadibly minimal. Like 2lbs max. I did the same as you, and as long as what you're putting in is sensible, you can up it to 1400, just keep activity levels around the same, and you're body will adjust. People are quick to judge "saying you're in starvation mode and you'll balloon up." You won't. Just add a couple more servings of a few things. But still exercise!! It really wont make a difference. Hope that helps!
You are 14 years old. You need more like 2,000 calories a day. Not to scare you, but you have probably damaged your short term and long term health by eating so little.
It's hard to be sure. Lately I've been increasing up to my lower maintenance guess, almost there, and what tends to happen to me is I maintain for about a week before starting to drop a bit again, and after another increase, the same thing happens.
A jump from 700 to 1400 might cause very temporary, slight weight gain, and then maintenance, and then slow weight loss. 1200 to 1400 likely will just cause short maintenance followed by eventual weight loss (a couple of pounds a month). So it really depends on where your average is.

Hi. You are 14? I think you need to make an appointment with a therapist and go to your doctor and talk about options open to teenagers with eating disorders.
I'm saying this only out of concern and not to frighten you.
When I was your age I had an eating disorder. I had friends who were hospitalized because they were close to dying. I am still close to one of these girls and she has had continual health problems for the last 20 years and her hair is permanently thinned. Another classmate did die. I joined an eating disorder support group for teenage girls that was moderated by a psychiatrist. That enabled me to get on with my life without being a slave to thoughts about food, my weight, the secrecy and my self control. Eating only 700 calories a day is dangerous. I saw your photo and you are a beautiful and skinny woman. I would hate to see you lose your beauty because you get to thin and sickness ruins your looks.
I would also suggest that you go even further with the knowledge you are gaining on this site, and make an appointment with a nutritionist. You can try to do a little research, so that you feel safer, and find a nutritionist who has experience working with young women with eating disorders. This way you will have someone who is on your side and who has an understanding about your type of fears around gaining weight.
