Is this unhealthy?
So today I had brunch with a friend and I had 2 poached eggs and one piece of toast along with a grilled tomato. And it was REALLY filling so I decided that since I had a late breakfast there wouldn't be a need for lunch.
Then I kinda freaked out that I wouldn't be getting enough calories for the day because my next weigh in is on Thursday and I need to make an improvement or I'm not going on my holiday, so I took out the box of roasted almonds and ate a WHOLE bunch of them. Like around 40-50 almonds I think??
Is that unhealthy? I'm quite worried because a few hours after that I had this painful knot in my stomach like it had been tightened really tight and I was wondering if its cos of the almonds. I mean I do want to gain weight, but gain weight with the right types of food...
You could've eaten a lot of foods much worse than almonds, raw ones would've been better than roasted but they should still be nutritionally beneficial. Nuts are great for adding calories if you're trying to gain weight and they'll give you plenty of healthy fats and protein. The stomach pains are probably just if you aren't used to eating very much, I wouldn't worry but if they persist or if you get them even when you haven't eaten you might want to speak to somebody just to make sure it's nothing serious.
almonds are very healthy. they have lots of protein, which build strongs muscle tissue, and they also have lots of healthy fats and fiber. if you want to feel better about eating all those almonds, go to the gym and do some weight-lifting, or use whatever free-weights you have around your house. weight-training will help you gain muscle weight, and little fat.
good luck in recovery.
Almonds, as has been said, are very healthy. Don't fret. The knot in your stomach may be due to fibre in the almonds, so drink plenty of water - but otherwise, don't worry. If the pain increases speak to a doctor or parent, but otherwise you picked a very healthy food indeed.
I'm not a weight-gainer, but I happened to see this on the 'overview' page. I would suggest your stomach pain might actually be due to your stress over the whole incident. I know that my stomach has responded that way.
