UNhealthy recipies wanted for a good cause.

To explain: my ex has asked me for help on an extremely interesting project/a laugh going on with his Uni's Union: the Union runs a "Healthy Week" about bi or triannually, and this year, for a laugh, are hosting an "Unhealthy Week" too. He has a lot of charge in it, and in particular in the formation of a recipe book of totally or largely unhealthy and high-calorie meals, snacks, desserts and drinks.

The point of the unhealthy week is actually to stress the importance of balance, apparently; ultimately they want people to remember that, in a day and age of so much focus on diet diet diet and weight weight weight, it's okay to indulge once in a while.

As part of the week they will also be promoting positive body image campaigns, including a prologue in the recipe book on the importance of self-acceptance and of moderation. The sales of the book will be going largely to charities and (okay, this might have been my influence slightly!) some of the money from the book sales will be going to b-eat - the UK Eating Disorder charity.

I've got SOME ideas, and I am somewhat drawing from sources like the Heart Attack Grill (replicating a triple bypass burger? I think YES!), This is Why You're Fat and Pimp That Snack but if anyone would be gracious enough to share ideas I would appreciate it. They needn't be totally mindblowing ridiculous - rather, fairly high calorie, but enjoyable, and DOABLE.

So, got a truly wicked recipe you'd like to share in the name of good and raising money? Or even just an idea? Let me know! And no, you don't need to list the caloric content. The book falls into fours:

Snacks and Sides - this is for your starters, dips, side dishes, snacks and otherwise. Sweet or savoury.
Mains - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Savoury.
Desserts - pud pud pud! Sweet.
Drinks - yes, including RIDICULOUS cocktails. These are Uni students, after all.

A while back there was a CC member who had this dish several times a week.  He'd stop at his favorite take away and eat this as he walked home.  He had no idea of how many calories in it.  So, after a few conversations I figured the dish out.  Here it is, straight from Teesdale, GB

Parmo Chicken

edited to add:  this is an example of how you can't rely on the Grade to evaluate the food.  Because it is so high in nutrients like calcium and iron (mostly due to the gigantic portion size) it gets a B

Here are some links The Humble Parmo

For my work carry in's I am always asked to bring in my homemade PB Pie...very easy receipe...very fattening! And VERY deliscious!!

PB & Marshmallow Krispie-Topped Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 box brownie mix, baked as directed
  • 4 cups small marshmallows
  • 1 16oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts, if desired

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to temperature directed on brownie package.
  2. Line the pan with foil (Parchment should work as well).
  3. Prepare brownies as directed on box.  When you remove brownies from oven, promptly sprinkle marshmallows across top. Return to oven for 2-3 minutes to soften marshmallows. Remove from oven and spread soft marshmallows over top of brownies. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. Prepare topping. In a a saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Stir frequently until mixture is smooth. Add cereal and stir to coat. Drop spoonfuls of chocolate mixture over marshmallow layer, spreading as evenly as possible. Things will look gooey at this point, so don’t even think about cutting. Put the brownies in the refrigerator for at least a few hours to chill.
  5. Lift from pan and cut into squares.
My mom makes these for picnics and family get togethers. They are so sweet that I can't eat them because I get an upset stomach.

These scones are probably the most amazing breakfast items ever! i have made them MANY times

Also for an appetizer you could do warm spinach artichoke dip in a bread bowl with small pieces of bread for dipping. You could probably find a recipe on food-network.com or another website.  Just look at the reviews to make sure people liked it!

here is a dessert that i have never made but my friend is famous for. (i just looked up the recipe online so it isn't the same one she uses but looks close) They are seriously incredibly delicious and amazingly rich.  One for me is more than enough. She says they are kind of hard work to make, but im not kidding when she brings them to school or to an event EVERYONE runs over to her

any kind of turkish pastry =]

Here are some popular ones I found online

"Pogaca" (cheese pastry):

Oh and, I dont have a recipe for this but you can easily find some online - CHEESECAKE. dont ever ever forget the cheesecake. its a must! =]

Oreo Mudslide:

30 ml vodka
30 ml kahlua

1 or 2 oreos (any kind of cookie should work)

Blend everything together =]

Chili Blanco, or white chili, is light in color, but heavy on flavor. Made with chicken, beans and lots of herbs and spices. Crank up the heat by adding more jalapeño.

scoop with tortilla chips.  have sour cream & salsa on the side for extra yumminess.  for best results, wash down with mt dew (and none of that diet crap, either!)

my mom and I bought a book a few years back called "The North Beach Diet" which is a parody on the South Beach Diet of course and is all about how to get fat. It actually has some great recipes in there. I"m not sure of the copy right laws about that but I can pm you some if you want!

LOL! I will have to look into that book, Gibbit, it might give us both ideas! And yes, feel free to PM - I'm drawing inspiration from things where I can so they'd help a lot!

"F" brownies... because CC gives them an F ;)

3/4 c butter, 4 oz chocolate, 2c sugar, 1 c flour, 3 eggs, vanilla.

Melt butter and chocolate in microwave.  Mix until thoroughly blended.  Add sugar, eggs, mix well.  Add vanilla, stir, add flour.  Bake at 350 for 20 mins.

Find some recipes online by Paula Deen.   She is the queen of deep fried foods and tends to float things in butter and heavy cream.  Bill's comment when watching her show was "My God!  She's trying to kill us all!"

example:  Deep Fried Butter Balls

And to further prove Claire's point...

Cheesey Ham and Banana Casserole
Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

  • Butter
  • 12 slices white bread
  • 8 large slices deli ham
  • 4 bananas, sliced on the bias
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar
  • 2 cups crushed potato chips
  • 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • Pinch freshly grated nutmeg
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter a 9 by 13 glass baking dish. Butter both sides of the bread and layer 6 of them into the bottom of the baking dish, overlapping them as necessary but keep them even. Layer the slices of ham on top of the bread and then the bananas, 6 more slices of bread, then the cheese, potato chips, and bacon. In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Pour this over the casserole almost to the top. Bake for 45 minutes until brown and bubbly. Cut into squares and remove with a spatula, like lasagna.

After reading the last 2 posts I think i'm gonna be sick. OMG that's just gross!

My Moms pork chops: It gets a B- but I never knew it had so many calories and sodium and fat. Needless to say I created the recipe for this forum (from how my Mom use to make it)  and I will never eat it again. Tastes awesome but..........wow gross! We use to eat 2 pork chops each and a salad. Why even bother with the salad LOL that's what i'm thinking after looking at it.

http://caloriecount.about.com/moms-pork-chops -recipe-r190657 On this recipe I put DON'T EAT THIS. Lemme know when you got it and I will delete this recipe. Don't want anyone to make this!

The best main dish EVER which is not so much unhealthy as just incredibly fattening is roast duck. I tried this loads of times before I realised the key is to cook it at very low heat for at least an hour on top of what recipes suggest.

It OOZES fat. Cups and cups of it. You can drain it off and use it to cook potatoes in.

If you cook one at low heat for 3-4 hours and ensure it is nice and dry before putting it in the oven it goes golden and crispy and the skin is edible and the fat is completely edible too. It FALLS off the bone. You can hardly eat it for salivating.

Oh my god. It is so good.

My stupendously wonderful chocolate chip pecan cookies...add them to vanilla bean ice cream for a wonderous treat!

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp bourbon

Cream together these ingredients.  In a separate bowl, mix 1 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp salt, blend with wet ingredients until smooth.  Chop one cup pecans and mix in with ~1 1/2 cups chocolate chips.  Cook at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until done.

Creme brulee.  Every year or so I indulge (in a restaurant) in this, my favorite of all desserts.  Nothing but cream, more cream, eggs, and a little sugar for balance.  Epicurious is sure to have a good version.  My husband always asks "why don't you make this at home?".  Because I don't think I could make anything with that much butterfat in it, I always reply.
