Wait, do you mean like 'love handles'?

If that is what you  mean, I find that your basic crunches help those very well. But I'm curious to see someone with a more of an explanation because its also my problem, so I'll watch this forum for a bit.

hmmm...is it your actual hip bones that are slightly out-of-proportion?  Or is it that one hip seem to have more fat deposited on it than the other?  I never thought I'd ever say this on a public forum, but my hip bones are slightly out-of-proportion as well.  I think it happen when I fell off a horse when I was 13 or 14 & busted my right hip bone--it just didn't seem to develop as much as the left one after that incident.  (It's not noticable to other people, but I know there's a difference).

Anyway, as for getting rid of that stubborn area:

1.  Diet is key--stay away from fatty foods & heavy dairy (skim milk is fine though).  No junk food!

2.  Make sure you incorporate cardio into your exercise routine--personally I like interval training because it kicks your heart rate into a high gear & burns more calories.

3.  Do exercises that target the butt, thighs, and hip region.  You can get wonderful results with such as squats, lunges, leg raises, kicks, walking lunges, and floor work.  If you add ankle weights or hold a hand weight in place on the leg that your working, that will increase the intensity level as well.

4.  Patience patience patience!  Trouble spots won't disappear overnight, but stay with it & don't give up.

Personally, I love doing exercises that target my lower body because it gives you sexy legs & who doesn't want to have that?!  Good luck!

Almost no-one is perfectly symmetrical.  It's common to have slightly differently-sized feet, breasts, hands....  hips are no exception.  If other people stop you in the street to remark on your bigger hip then how about going to see your doctor and asking their opinion?  If only you notices the difference then you may have become over-sensitised to the problem and it's not as obvious as you think.

oh no its not like a tumor or anything!

i used to be really skinny and then i gained some weight back---20 pounds...

then i got hips, never had 'em before though.... and then i lost 10 pounds and now i have a big hip....fatty hip... its not bone whatsoever... its not too noticeable though... i just barely noticed it. :]]

Then what you've got is only a problem if you dwell on it.

my right love handle is bigger than my left one:P

so ure not alone in the unproportional thing, if it help
