i get stressed so easily and i find it hard to relax and kick back for a while. obviously i don't want to use food to help comfort and relax me, but i need some new ideas. please don't say tv or movies! :]
I read a book, play piano, or actually....excersize :) It helps clear my mind and gives me alone time.
you should try yoga, I use to get really bored and just eat from boredom. Im not sure why but yoga just slows everything down.
i love to read, take a walk, sit outside, sleep...ha or if i'm super stressed, i just cry. sometimes it's just needed (:.
To be honest, I do what I know of yoga. It works wonders!
You can read if you like to read, listen to music too. It helps, I believe.
Walking around outside solves a lot - you get a chance to think, you're alone for the most part, and you are excersizing.
Well. Soon I'm going to a therapist. But a cheaper way (and my personal favorite)...
Close your door. Blast some music (or if you're home with others, put on your Mp3 player/CD player) AND JUST BUST A MOVE.
LOL 'bust a move'!! :D I'm gonna try that! Although my bedroom floor creaks a lot so it may sound suspicious, I'll have to come up with some kind of cover story...
I do yoga, and I love it, but I never actually thought of doing it when I need to relax cause I always just saw it as a work out! I'm gonna give that one a go too.
I think I'm gonna walk down to the library tomorrow as well.
Thanks for the replies so far :)
Treadmill or outside...it keeps me sane. I feel so much better after I run. I can just get all my anger and stress out.
Video Games! Love my PS3 and X-Box 360. Working Out also helps me vent.
Hmm.. I'll usually read, exercise, draw, play some DDR, take a nap, or meditate.
I would seriously recomend meditation and drawing the most. Both are usually avoided because people expect something big from the two, but to get anything big, you'll have to practice fairly often (once a day for 10-60 minutes isn't too shabby of a practice time, no?)
For meditation, look for some guided meditations. If you need some links, I have a couple.. :3 I'm sure you can find a bunch via google, though.
For drawing, you just need a pencil, a paper... sometimes also some music to get you inspired. Though, defiantly don't listen to the same music you boogy down to, that'll just cause you to.. well.. forget drawing and just boogy down.
But I will have to second&nbs p;the dancing method, man, there's nothing like dancing so hard on a day that was utter crap or just so. not. fun.
I've started to play guitar. I also find soccer/sports in general keep my mind off things.
All these suggestions are so gooood, thanks guys. kaybug im an art student so i get pretty sick of drawing sometimes haha! iv got a blank canvas upstairs though and i wanted to paint it throughout the summer so thanks for reminding me of that. meditation is a GREAT idea!!!!!! im gonna have a google of that now i think.
im gonna get my guitar back out too. gosh this is crazy, it's like ive spent this academic year being so stressed about college, ive totally forgotten all my hobbies and things i used to do for the fun of it! how mad is that. thanks for reminding me lovelies :D
what's DDR?!
