GIVEN UP! Can I still do this before bikini season?

Quote  |  Reply
Well, I lost a ton of weight, I was down to 127, my lowest yet. Now I am back here, at my ususal 123. I want to kill myself, how did I get back this way? I know how. I keep eating, and eating, and eating and then regretting it. I cannot get back on track. Figures, I look my best in the winter and now I am a whale in the SUMMER! Can I lose 5 pounds in 4 weeks? or is it too late...? God help me....

Alright, well i just did a seven minuite mile on the treadmill and I feel a little better, but that didnt change the scale from changing :(

I still feel the trans-fat filled refried-beans from the taco bell salad I jsut ate and I want to puke so bad right now.

I am so depressed. I look in the mirror and I can actually SEE the food sitting in my enormous gut.

Geesh! Take it easy! I hardly doubt being at 127 (or 123 whatever you mean) consitutes having an "enormous gut" give yourself a break! If it makes you feel better it is possible to lose 5 pounds in 4 weeks. But i think you need to work on loving yourself more and NOT stressing about a measly couple pounds!

I think you got your numbers backwards. Anyway, only thing left to do is give it your all and get right back to where you were. It's either that, or stay at your weight, or worse.

yes you can lose 5 pounds in 4 weeks..no prob

I think you need to take a deep breath the relax. I hope you are joking about saying you are going to kill yourself over being 127 lbs. We take that stuff very seriously around here .... I know being a teenager is difficult and all, but wake up and see you are at a perfectly healthy weight and have a lot to be happy about (how tall are you??). Of course if you want to you can lose 5 lbs in 4 weeks you can, but don't stress over just one days intake.

I guess you mean you are at your "usual" 132?  Anyway, 5 pounds is not bad to try to lose in 4 weeks.   Hell, I am trying for 5kgs in 4 weeks!  hehehe.

Anyway, if your Taco Bell day is unusual for the week, then don't stress about it, it is good to eat over your maintenance calories on the odd occassion, to reassure your body that you are not starving it so it does not decrease your metablosim on you and make it harder.  So, don't punish yourself over it too much, and now get back on track!  :)

Aw dont worry im in the exact same boat as you are!! I lost all the weight in winter, managed to get a boyfriend....and then i put the weight back on...dam comfort foods! Can't help it i just love my food too much! From what your saying though you do what i do, i get frustrated when i dont see immediate improvement and then just get annoyed and eat more!

I'm not fat by any means but im not skinny either and im deffinatly not the weight i want to be! So like you im in a panic over bikini season where all the ridiculous skinny girls where nothing and make the normal looking people look HUGE! But just don't fret, find a motivation that will keep you on track, mine is my boyfriend i asked him to literally have a go at me if he see's me eating rubbish! Even though he disagrees with me trying to lose weight but he is supportive all the same. :-) think about how great you'll feel when you can walk onto a beach surrounded by skinny girls and not be hiding behind a towel until you reach the sea! We've all been there! Think about your real goal and aim for that and screw everything else. if you go to eat something fattening think do i really want this or am i just eating for the sake of eating?

hope it helped....good luck!!!!!!!! x

Firstly congratulate yourself on the ton of weight that you have lost.  I seriously doubt you look like a whale to others.

I wasted many of my teens and early 20s worrying about my weight, so much so that it got in the way of having fun.  If I had only thought 'stuff it' I would have had a lot more fun.  Looking back at photos of myself now I can't believe how flat my stomach was and how I looked young and healthy when I really thought I was fat and ugly.

As the saying goes 'youth is wasted on the young'. It certainly was on me.

I say go out there and enjoy your teens/youth and know that you are young and healthy and that the 5lbs will shift when they are ready.

You are 5'6. At either weight listed above you are NOT overweight!  Even at 132 lbs you are at the lower end of your healthy BMI range.

You also say that you play sports and are athletic so I bet you carry more muscle than other girls and muscle weighs more than fat.

Oh girl!  ...reeee-lax!  ...you are clearly your worst critic...just get back in the saddle and do whatever you did to lose that ton of weight...get back on the program, but please, stop beating yourself up dear...instead of looking in the mirror and saying horrible things about yourself...take a nice, long bubble bath and reward yourself...really...besides, our thoughts are such a powerful creative force...better to expend the energy visualizing postive things about what you are doing to take care of yourself than negative ideas that will bring about your worst fear...after all, devoting that kind of energy to the negative will bring whatever negative ideas you have before your feet...or in your case, your gut! :)

Give me a break.  5 lbs one way or the other isnt even noticeable except on the scale.  Im guessing its just the number that is freaking you out.  If a 5lb swing is going to affect you in such a negative way, you're in for a lifetime of misery.  Time to dump your scale and get over it.  Otherwise you'll be obsessing for a long time.  Additionally then perhaps you need to stay away from the trans-fat refried beans.  Obviously that is a bad choice.  If you're going to eat unhealthy foods, then you should be prepared to deal with the consequences.
