is it possible? we all have heard the wonder story of Revolution...I just wanted to start this thread for some of us undergoing this little experiment to talk. Also, if anyone has done this and it has NOT worked, do tell!
sorry i am kind of obsessed with this subject right now
You said it yourself, of course you did not give your body 7000 extra calories. The number on your scale is nothing more than that - maybe some water retention from salt, maybe the food weight, maybe hormonal - but Most Definitely Not Real Weight! As Carmen so eloquently put it, nobody got fat on 1800 cals. (Remember, I still eat 3000 and I'm not getting fat!)
So, please keep doing what you are doing and try to trust yourself. Don't restrict, it only makes things worse. Read everybody else's posts on this topic and of course Revolution3's topic. Try to have faith!
thanks cat-girl...i needed that too. I am up to 800 cals for todya, and i worked out, and i am going to work and its going to be soo early to keep it under 1000 for the day but i am GOING to eat good, healthy, nutritious food. I hope this works, i really really do. I cant stay off the scale though...for two whole more days? Should I wait more?
woooo, go me and my inspiring quotes! lol

1800cals a day and still going good :)
Just wanting to hear from people managing this, but how long have you been sticking to the upped calories before you saw weight loss? Like, eating steadily at 1800+ for a week and then seeing loss? x:
bump this up... lol im wondering that same as labanana
ha-im wondering how often i should weigh myself to see how many cals i gain on, im still eupping even if i gain bc im only eating 1350 at the moment, but as i increase i want to be able to gauge my progress, what makes me gain and what am i still losing on or whatever.
It does definitely work ;)
Your body needs at least 1,200 calories a day to work properly, if he gets less than that, he starts burning less and storing more fat. You will never be able to perform as well as with enough nutrition, and as soon as you eat a little bit more, you will immediately start gaining weight.
So if you start eating 1,200 calories a day, your body will soon get used to more food and burn more calories. You will still have a calorie deficit, though, so you will still lose weight!
hi-well im looking to gain, not lose, but i need to obviously increase my calories. ill be eating 1350ish till wed or so, then ill go to 1450ish. i think that my bmr is just under 1500-24, f, just under 5'4 and moslty sedentary. i just dont understand how to figure out waht i need to gain, how do some ppl know that they ned at least 3000 cals? how often do you weigh to gauge it or how often do you increase? im thinking once i get to 1500ish i might see an initial large gain and then it may slow or i may then need more cals to continue gaining? although i dont think 1500 would be sufficient either.
thanks
I actually took it a little further than 1800 some days...here was that week:
1850, 1805, 1940, 1900, 1750 (ok so not quite =P), 1820, 2200
That took me up a couple lbs but by the end of the week I had lost it all, and then some (after being the same weight for months)
I think my body needed that!
excellent post deflepfan16 very reasurring.
I think we are all just over thinking this.. and yes, it took me forever to realize that! but normal people just EAT and maintain their weight, they don't think okay I need to eat (X)cal today and (Y)cal tomorrow, and (Z)cal the next day... no no no they just listen to their body.
of coarse though, our 'instints' have been permanently damaged by this infernal counting... try NOT counting for a day! Frick it's hard! like its possible, BUT you still have an idea of how many calories you have taken in, am i right?
I work with people who are like "I haven't eaten like anything today" and then they order their food (which is usually junky since i work at Dennys) but they are still in an average "healthy" weight range (healthy being in quotes because they dont eat very healthy per say)
although I don't agree with their eating habits, I still envy their I-dont-care attitude... my mind is constantly thinking when to eat and what to eat, usually spreading my meals/snacks throughout the day with each being around 200-400cal... and I get so annoyed when people say things like "you're always eating, how are you NOT obese?"
I dunno I enjoy eating and i would much rather eat lots, then only like one meal a day.. it works for me for the most part, but I sometimes do wish i could eat an entire 1000cal meal in one sitting and not go insane... oh well
ohh,CARMEN-eating a "normal" meal w/o thinking, eating throughout the d ay and not counting, THAT SOUNDS SOOOO AWESOME! i just dont remember what "normal" is anymore-sux
bad day :-/ i dont know if i like this i really dont

I was feeling the same way for the first three days, but the last four have been better (probably because I actually started eating better!). Tomorrow starts my low-cal week, so we'll see what happens. Crossing my fingers!
Well, in the last week I upped my cals from 1,633 (maintenance) to 2,500 and so far I have lost two pounds; not exactly what I want, (I am gaining my last 5 pounds!!) but I am SUPER happy because it means I am getting my metabolism back. *screams with joy*
And I thought I was getting better at this..
oohh, I know upping cals works to lose weight, but I'm just so scared of eating more =[ I've restricted two days in a row now, only to eat dried fruit at night, and dried fruit is high in cals anyway....but cos it's at night I don't exercise or burn it off, so I feel al flabby and yuk afterwards =[ =[ blahh
how do you all cope with eating more? I'm just so scared of putting on any more weight than I have done (7lbs since I began treatment)

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
