Upping to 8-a-day...and suffering!

Quote  |  Reply

OK, i am upping my water intake seriously as read it can reduce weight thro water retention. Have been real good last couple of days...but finding I am up like every 20 minutes for a pee!!! Surprised

Please, someone tell me this will wear off once my body gets used to the new intake?!?!?! I cant be doing with this, its not good! I do long car journeys, work with guys (who pee like once a day!!) and its just damn uncomfortable!! And if it does wear off, how soon?!?!

Can't tell ya when it wears off, but it does! I think after a few days. I actually started drinking a lot of water again and have been in the same place.

Honestly, it never really wore off for me. Maybe a little bit? That being said, I have a very small bladder...

Try spreading your water intake out so that you are only drinking small amounts at a time. Also, look up Kegel exercises, which strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor.

How big are your water glasses? The 'eight glasses a day' refers to eight CUPS - if you're using a 16oz or 20 oz glass that's only four, and you don't have to have them all at once... you shouldn't be peeing every 20 minutes throughout the entire day - a cup of water is a pretty small amount.

I generally drink about 150oz of water per day, and I don't start getting up to pee until about 3/4 of the way through the day.  I do find that after I pee once, my bladder seems to shrink quickly and I have to pee more often (but never ever 20 mins).

Ditto this. I was really overloading it on the water until I started measuring my milk and realizing that a whole glass of milk was actually two servings!! But that meant I was drinking double the water.

There's no way I can drink as much water as I hear most other people drink..If I did I would be peeing constantly as well as I have when I tried to up my fluid intake. It's horrid going to bed at night and having to get up every 20-30 minutes having to pee. lmao. Perhaps I have a weak bladder who knows...but I feel you on this one. Another thing  I have to start doing is not drinking anything 2 hours prior to bed so I don't have to get out of bed so much to go. 8/

I've heard it takes 30-40 minutes for water to go through your system. It takes me about 1 and 1/2 hrs to get ready in the morning so i usually drink 16-20oz right when I get up in the morning that way I can pee before going to work. Then I sip it throughout the day and drink another 16-20oz when I get home. This seems to work for me.
