Urgent!!!!!!!help!!
i was wondering having 200-300 calories coming from sugar is bad or good?if it causes me to reduce total calories intake, add more fiber, and is consider a healthy food.. I been having lots of Konnyakku Jelly which sadly contained a large amount of sugar but only worth 2 slices of white bread calories..any advice?

It's fine! The total calories is what counts, really. My advise is to go from ,,lots,, to ,,some,, then you will be fine ;0
Heres how I see it and how Ive experienced it personally. If you restrict yourself too much you end up binging. We dont need sugar in our diets but we need little treats like that to make us happy and stabalized it gives you something to aim for and a reason to carry on eating healthy because you know theres a treat at the end of it :)
Sugar is not exactly the best thing in the world for you but if this is the only source of sugar you are getting then you should be ok... Typically you should allow yourself 100 to 300 discrentionary calories (calories from not the healthiest sources) a day... But if you are eating this jelly plus other sugars (candy, your WHITE BREAD, etc) then you really should cut back!
Perhaps you should look into lower calorie jelly options - or eat WHOLE GRAIN bread with the Konnyakku Jelly. You should really try and balance things out a little better!
Good Luck!
Get whole grain bread AND a better jelly. Smucker's has some all-fruit jellies that are really tasty, and no added sugar.
i didn't restrict myself from snacks..I was just wondering.. Cause Konnyaku is suppose to be healthy for you and according to the package, Konnyaku Jelly is a healthy low calories food..I'm really confuse..
Ever seen a package that labels itself 'unhealthy'?
People want to sell their stuff, and they will do and say anything to get people to buy it. Until there is some official standard on what is considered a healthy food and what is not, a lot of not so good products will label themselves as healthy and get away with it.
When buying foods, ignore a lot of what's on the front of the packet and read the back instead.... marketing can be fudged, nutrition labels tend to tell the unvarnished truth. Any food with more than 20g sugar per 100g would class as a 'high sugar food'. If you'd like to eat less sugar choose foods with less than 10g sugar per 100g.
well..it didn't write the exact amount..but according to the package,its..
Nutrition facts :
Serving size : 30g
Total serving per package : Around 8 (its a 250g pack)
Calories : 22
Fat /protein : 0
Sodium : 6.8/8.8 (too small the print)
Carbs : 5.5g
Fibre : 0
Sugar : 3.8
Around that..so if i eat this everyday, the harm is?
anyone?
The only harm would be if you ate nothing but this product ... no other foods. If you're getting plenty of different foods in your diet then some sweet treats are perfectly acceptable.
k.thanks gi-jane
