copy them from the computer (hard rive) en masse , back to the memory card? Am assuming it's a flash drive?

You'll be fine; it's not like you've lost the pictures.  Do they really need to be on the memory card?  If you need to move them somewhere, you can put them on a large flash drive or something.

Just search on google for something like "camera memory restore program" or something. It happend to me once as well, and my father restored the memory completely :]

I know it cld be worse and I cld have lost them all bt he will still be ridiculously angry I am sure.

I want to drag them onto the card but I can't seem to find the memory card in my computer. Where abouts would it be as it doesn't seem to be showing up?

oh, duh. The memory card on the camera.

Sorry - no advice here.

What did u think I meant?

I misread. Disregard. :)

1) Go under My Computer.  This is either an icon on your desktop, or in your Start menu. (I'm assuming you're using Windows here.)

2a)If you're connecting directly with the camera, look for the name of the camera.  You may have to scroll down to find it.

2b) If you're using a card reader, find that.  Again, you may have to scroll down.

3) Click (or doubleclick)  the device in step 2 to open its folder.

4) Open the folder you put the pictures in.  Move the 2 folders you now have open so you can see them both at the same time.

5) Drag and drop them from the folder you stored them in into the device's folder.  This will copy them to the device.

It's very easy, don't panic :)  Since you still have the files, a memory restore program isn't necessary, but if you ever delete photos and don't have another copy, and - this is important - haven't saved anything else to the memory card, you can use a restore program to get them back.

Literally...?

I hope that crisis was solved...

Be sure to back up the photos eventually that you've put on the computer.  If it crashes you might lose them all.  I just got a portable hard drive for mine because my ibook is aging and might die anytime :/

Some cameras automatically erase the photos when they've been uploaded to the computer. One of my friend's cameras does that. Mine asks if I want to delete them from the memory card after I've uploaded them.
