Gotten used to calorie intake
So it has been almost 2 weeks since i've been cutting my calories. at first, I found it really hard to keep at my goal, but now it is so much easier to stay within my calorie range.
I'm glad it's gotten easier because it was almost impossible. The key thing I learned was that you just have to keep going every day. When you have a bad day, don't stress over it or quit because of it!
Just wanted to let others know it gets easier! lol
the key to what you said is this:
"The key thing I learned was that you just have to keep going every day. When you have a bad day, don't stress over it or quit because of it!"
People forget that we're human and it's really sad if we get all bent out of shape over having basic human drives and slip ups. our happiness shouldn't be dictated by how close we come to reaching our calorie goal. granted we should try our best but when we mess up it's not the end of the world. we have to be able to accept the occasional slip up and indulgence. since when did food become the enemy? it shouldn't be and if we keep this in mind we'll be less likely to have the guilt ridden, binge episode!!
Just a thought =D
Thanks for writing that it gets easier! I agree - It's just a matter of knowing what is an option and enjoying it, and knowing what is not an option and omitting it from your lifestyle! Slip ups happen - I don't want to even talk about what I did last week - but you have to move on and keep doing well!
ya slip ups are depressing but they don't have to be. I started to realize that overeating is really not that fun anymore lol I just dont get the same feeling I used to get when i ate more
I also never understood how people could barely make it to their calorie goal but now I'm lie that last night I was 200 calories short again (had only 1000 cals!) and I'm really scared that I will go into starvation mode and my metabolism will slow down! Today, I may eat just around maintenance to prevent it from happening.
I am still shocked by how easier its gotten. Before it was a diet, now its becoming a lifestyle change.

I know what you mean, I find that 2-3 times a week that my cals fall a bit short, or that I hit my 1200 cals but with the days activity, my deficit is like 1100 cals instead of the 1000 cals I'm shooting for.
But I think that it takes weeks or possibly a couple months of "undereating" for your body to slip into starvation mode. I'm trying to stay on top of it too to avoid this, but so far, I've been ok, averaging 2-2.5lbs per week.
It won't hurt you to eat around maintenace, it'll probably shake things up a bit, but I don't think that it's neccesary... But everyone's body is different too! Just my 2 cents. ![]()
thanks for posting this, its so good to hear that it gets easier. i gave up snacking and wow, i was so hungry at first, but now i'm starting to get used to eating three balanced, healthy meals a day instead of grazing on peanut butter and cookies and whatever i feel like all day long!!!! your body DOES adjust after a while as long as you are treating it well (took bout a week in my case). thank goodness!!
