Who here used clomid?

What were your results?  How many months did it take for you to get pregnant after you began treatment?  If you took it and conceived, did you have a singleton, twins or more?  I am just curious before I start.  Thanks!

Teener i am suprised your doctor let you use clomid that long, the reproductive endo i went and seen for infertility said they didn't like using it for more than 4 cycles.  They made us go on to injectibles since i wasn't responding the time i was trying to conceive my daughter.

But congrats on your twins though.  :)

Thanks for the congrats having my twins is wonderful lots of work but definitely worth it!! As far as the doc goes I wanted to either go to something else or just quit all together both my husband and I were very frustrated! He convinced me to try one more time and poof that was the month! Before the clomid I was not ovulating and it was secondary infertility so since the clomid was making me ovulate I believe that's why we stuck with it or at least that's what I am assuming.

I am currently on my second cycle of Clomid.  My lab work is always normal, but I don't ovulate.  I already have a 20 month old little boy and hope to give him a brother or sister soon!  He was conceived on Clomid, but that took 8 LONG months (though just 6 cycles since mine were longer).  DH absolutely refused to do a SA.  (He thought it would be too embarrassing.) The Dr. told me if that 6th cycle didn't work, I would need an HSG.  I told DH that if this last cycle didn't work, he WILL be doing a SA. period.  I guess that was the encouragement he needed, because that month I got pregnant! Most of the people I know who've taken Clomid only had singletons, except for one with twins. So good luck to you.  I hope we both get pregnant soon!

Wow, more news on clomid.  I am going on my second month of clomid.  I just saw the fertility specialist last week.  She told me that I do have PCOS.  My OBGYN kept telling me that my body type didn't fit the profile, but the new doc says all the other symptoms point to it.  (I told me OBGYN I had gone through a lot of electrolysis and he said that was normal.)  Luckily, since I am a runner, I won't need metformin to keep my glucose in check.  We are gonna do a 6 month run on clomid and if I don't get pregnant, move on to something else.

Update:

I wasn't pregnant after 2nd round on clomid, so the doc did a hystosalpingogram.  I had surgery a few years ago and it appears there may be some scarring on my fallopian tubes.  Luckily, the dye was still able to flow into my abdominal cavity, meaning they aren't completely blocked.  We are going to try a few months on clomid and see if that works.  Supposedly the HSG dilates the tubes in some women and boom, they get pregnant.  Some more labs will be done, perhaps we will try a round of the shots if needed.  If that doesn't get us pregnant, we are going to assume that I am scarred (I refused surgery to look for scarring as it can cause more scars) and we will move onto IVF.  Wish us luck.

Good luck!

I did have a friend on another web site that concieved the month after her HSG.  Hope it works out for you.
