Did you ever used to shovel in food that you didn't even really enjoy?

Kind of a carry over from the Food Board... there was a poll asking what foods we don't miss not eating.  I have no idea why I used to just eat and eat and eat - ate foods that were so bad for me, that I didn't even really like.  I would've been just as happy with a nice fresh salad or some steamed broccoli, but instead I'd polish off some lasagna and an entire container of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.... I'd run through the drive through at Burger King just because it was there and eat crap I didn't even like.  I'd go to Krispy Kremes even though I never was that crazy about Krispy Kremes.


What the hell?  Am I the only one who did really insane things like this?  And then I'd starve myself.  and then I'd binge again.

I just did something similar last night.. I was not even craving for donuts. Hell, I was never a huge fan of donuts. My boyfriend bought one for himself and before I knew what was going on, I binged and binged on an insane amount of sugar.

It is all in the mind, I guess? Sometimes, everyone slips..

this happens to me all the time! i'll keep eating and eating, and the whole time i'm thinking, "this doesn't even taste good and i feel sick." then i just feel so bloated and heavy when i'm done. trying to get past this, but it's such an overwhelming impluse.

Pop... I still randomly do this... I never really drank it growing up but in college I was introduced to it and it becamea staple in my diet... But I still to this day don't like the taste.,.. I can't even identify what it tastes like... Like pepsi, what food or anything in nature tastes like pepsi!?  nothing, it is all chemicals... I still suddenly get cravings for one though but I have swithed to homemade grape juice (I have vine and bottle it)  and mix it with some seltzer water.  Now thats a sugar kick but atleast I know where it came from.:)  I also find it funny how I find myself at home thinking how much time and effort would be involved in cooking a healthy dish (30 min tops) and think about going to a drive thru or ordering in... both of which involve me doing more work... I could get in my car drive 20 min into town wait in line at the drive thru wasting gasoline all the way adn spend too much for the food I recieve and then feel crappy about it later.... or order food and wait 30 -45 min for it to be delivered, over pay for it hope it is correct and then again eat and feel crappy about it...   It would take me no time to make a one dish meal  or a salad and feel great afterward....it woudl always be the way I like it and I wouldn't have to go any further than my kitchen... I save on gas too.. Sometimes I think we trick ourselves into thinking eating unhealthy is "easier" or "more convienient" when truthfully when you add all the factors involved it isn't.

I find that I do that when I'm at a friend's house eating dinner they've made or their parents made. I know I'm on a "diet", but I don't want to be too impolite and not clean my plate, so I pretty much eat everything. Then they will be like "oh, did you want more?" and I'll feel obligated to eat another serving of food just to be polite. Haha.

I guess I'm a pushover when it comes to food. :p

God, i did this last Wednesday, i made spaghetti for my mom and after seeing her eating i had a bowl with some Parmesan Romano cheese, it was nasty but i just had this need to stuff my face no matter what it was, yesterday the same thing happen i had a craving to stuff my face with anything didn't care but thankfully i didn't give in, i honestly don't know what it is but it sucks.

i use to do that alot.. def being i was purging.. i would eat dinner before work, and then before i acually went intno work, I wuold go to burger king and get somethin to eat.. and then on my "lunch break"  iw ould eat again.. JUst because.. i hate myself so much for doing that.. ALOT has changed, but sometimes i still find myself doing it... Its alot easier not 2 do it nw because i stay away frm the fast foods and i cook meals at home now!!  i remember i use to like binge and eat and then go to a fast food bathroom to purge.. so much money was wasted...... now i save alot more!!

pop corn, i dont even like it but if its around i find myself eating it wtf!

Conversation hearts/necco wafers. I'd eat a whole box/bag all the while going "ugh! These purple ones are SICK!" And I blame my parents for the fact that I eat pizza. I used to hate it as a child, but my parents would get it every week at least once, and give me soda as a bribe to eat the pizza. I was underweight from birth to kindergarten, and my parents just... shoved me too far in the other direction!

i was raised in a clean your plate routine as a child.. and im paying for it 25 yrs later ..so hard for me to leave things there untouched even when im full.. so ive adopted the use a smaller plate routine...i wish there was a food i didn't like but its more like i wish i wouldn't eat things mindlesslsy for no reason..i know ive consumed a millllion french fries for no reason other that they were there ..same goes for soda.....
