Lemon Cake!

So with everyone talking about cookies, pies and candy treats, I decided I'd look in my closet for something to bake and I found a Lemon Cake. Now all I need to do is buy some frosting, My family won't eat cake without frosting. Me on the other hand will eat it plain, good for the blood sugars.

The day has been gloomy outside, but my attitude has been in the clouds. I feel ontop of the world with my doggies do better. Beauty is sleeping her days away lately, of course she just turned 16 yrs old. Sandy is starting to put pressure on her paw they amputated the toe on.

The boys are out sharing some time together and me left to do menial house work. There are times with no one here I like it. Then there are times when I think, why didn't I go, I deserve to get out instead of being a slave to the house. Today though, I chose to stay home because of it being so cold outside and we are suppose to get the same weather as Claire and Kris are slated to get with me being in the midwest.

Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing ok mentally. The financial worries are because DH hasn't found a job yet and it doesn't appear there is anything is there in sight. We have been waiting to hear something from these two people, but no news yet. I think I would be happy just to hear a yes or no at this point. The no would be difficult to take, but then it would allow us to not have our hopes up so high to only come crashing down right after the holidays.

May the Lord be with you and yours! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I didn't pass out!

The site looks good at the amputation site. They cleaned it off and dryed it with a blow dryer and re-wrapped it. Next dressing change is Monday. The stitches, if all goes well will come out Next Thursday.

We went to my sons college and picked up his checks and then went out to eat. Maybe we could have waited, but I always get afraid of going low in traffic especially since my son said when he went to the zoo, the traffic was backed up due to an accident for over an hour. So, sucked it in and spent the money.

Please pray for our financial security, funds are low and bills are coming in daily.

Thanks you all for checking in on me and asking how things are going.

I am please so say that things are looking up for both Sandy and Beauty. Sandy did her pooey today right outside the vets office. HA HA. She was passing gas while they were taking off the bandage and re-wrapping. My poor son was at her hind end holding her from coming off the table. Oh, the odor. !!! LOL>>>> That little stinker. I guess that shows she was ready to drop a load if they hurt her, so my husband and son said.

Take care all.

Beauty is not allowing up to put ointment in her eye that has the major problem. It takes a while to coax her into opening her eye. God Bless. . . .

Hey friends, I'd like to point out the calorie count blog that is posted daily. it has some really good information in it and you should really read it and get some ideas and motivation tips.

Have a happy holiday season. Merry Christmas, and I look forward to a lighter New Year!

Cold here in Ohio

I think the temperature is 15 degrees outside. At least when I stood outside with Sandy this morning, I was a shivering faster than I could shake. She really had to go so I didn't get a chance to grab my coat. Of course, whe sniffed the air and did nothing. Dear Beauty is out walking the yard. We've noticed that since she lost her hearing that she is using her other senses more, especially, smell.

For the weigh in, drum roll. . . . 266.8, UP a POUND.

Today we see what her paw looks like without the 2nd toe. I am skiddish about seeing. I sure hope I don't pass out. Oh well, I gotta get going. I've decided not to put up the Christmas tree but, , , , I think more about it and I'll work towards getting it put up by Sunday. Take it easy. And God Bless. . . . Check back with me about the tree. I shall report how Sandy did out her visit today.Take care and God Bless.......

Dear Sandy hasn't gone to the bathroom yet, but has been outside twice. The first time my husband took her out bad choice. The second time I took her out. She was much better with me and walked a little in the back yard. DH had her go down on her own. Pissed me off!!!!! He's a man why can't he pick her up or for that fact use his common sense and say, awe she is having a hard time, maybe I ought to carry her ` me I;ll have DH do it next time with her, carry her that is.

Sandy was waiting for me to come downstairs today and I did and took her out right away. She has knawed at her bandage and it is unraveling a bit. Tomorrow is the bandage change. We'll see what he says about her not going to the bathroom.

No weigh-in, I already ate and now I am thinking I might go to the gym. We'll see though, I feel under the weather again, maybe never got better.

Take care and God Bless one and All Merry Christmas!

Not sure who had the better night sleep!

We'll we both must have had considerably bad ordeals yesterday. Hers with the anethesia /surgery and mine with the worrying because we both slept like ANGELS. She is still sleeping and Beauty was laying next to her when I got up. I petted both of them and then checked my blood sugar.

I was so upset yesterday I couldn't remember if I gave myself the night time dose, and apparently I didn't because my blood sugar was 146 when I got up. Way too high meaning I didn't give my dosage. I'll spend a lot of today, I am sure correct dosage adding.

Weigh-in is tomorrow so we will see how much I gained eating all these chunks of miniature cheese I've had since Saturday. Right now, the house is quite and I am going back upstairs.

Thanks for the comments in my last journal.

I just wanted to let some of you know, that my cc:email acount that the notices come in for reading journals and accepting friends, had been locked for quite sometime. I finally was able to get into it and accept my new friends. Sorry you all NOW YOU KNOW WHERE I'VE BEEN. NOT IGNORING YOU.

Take care all and God Bless. . .

SHE IS HOME! Sandy is home and sleeping.

Called at 5pm and they said she was alert and ready to come home. We only live about 5 minutes from there so we were home by 5:20.

I felt sorry for the young techinician that brought her out because she drugged her down the hallway on three legs. Boy, she is a strong dog. And the first person she came to was me, of course DH, pointed out that the door to leave was right behind me. LOL>>>> The surgical nurse told me that when she took her outside all she was doing was going to vehicles to try to get in. The hay, with going to the bathroom.

Anyhow, we are tickled that she is home. Right now she is fast asleep on a pillow with her leg propped up. Thanks you all for being there for my lows when I needed lifted up because of sadness, prayers during her time of surgery, and the love you have showed by caring enough to read my follow up journals.

Take care and GOD BLESS each of you with health, safety and financial freedom

She knows something is up ~

EDIT: Sandy is out of surgery and is in recovery. She is alert, but yet to eat and go outside. They did have to remove up to the second joint, which was kinda of expected but not what we hoped. Thanks for the good thoughts, prayers and (((HUGS))). She might be able to come home tonight IF she does go outside and eat. This will be a good thing, because she will be more comfortable and Beauty will miss her if she isn't here. WE ARE RELIEVED!!! now, all we got to do is make sure it doesn't get infected. Send good thoughts that she gets to come home tonight! 1:00pm

No food just water and that is what happened last time she spent the night. I think she knows something is up. Her ears constantly go back when we say we are so sorry, but you will feel better and won't hurt any more, hopefully, Sandy.

Beauty, is now limping on her back left leg> We don't seem to be able to get a break. She is the one that is now 16 years old. Arthritis most probably is the cause. We'll see if it gets worse tomorrow, if so we will take her in when we pick up Sandy.

UPDATE: LATER ON after we hear she is out of recovery.

I had bad dreams all night last night about this.

WE dropped her off and she was very nervous. She went from one person to another between the three of us (son, DH, and Me) several times and didn't like that we took off her collar. Can't go back to sleep, just too upset, so I took some Mylanta to soothe the tummy. Update when we hear should be around noon.

Boy, time is sure going by slow. . . real anxious. Time to take more Mylanta.

Surgery tomorrow!

My dear Sandy will be having her right front first toe amputated tomorrow. It got moved up because of the non-healing and continued increased swelling in that area. It most probably is a tumor. We are trying to stave off any further spread if it is a tumor. Please remember us tomorrow as we wait for her to get out of surgery. She is an older dog, 11 years old and there is always a risk putting a dog that age under anesthesia.

Thanks you all. Recovery will be 2-3 weels with going for a bandage change every three days. I pray we are able to keep it dry and clean with the weather of winter coming up.

Take care and I hope you will read my update tomorrow after noon or Tuesday after we pick her up.

God Bless you and yours through this Merry Christmas and Happy New Year season!

On the weight front, I gained 2 pounds from last week on the quarterly challenge. Rats, I guess I am stress eating or it is just that time for it to show up and disappear in a few days like it always does. The yo-yo diet regime I am on with the diet are also competing with the blood sugars.

Your friendship

This has been a bad last half of the year 2009 and I'd like to say to you all, I am sorry for not being the type of friend I feel I should have been. Just know I am dealing with alot of various issues and the ones listed in the next two paragraphs have me in a really depressed mood. So I probably will be posting less often. I'll do my best to read your posts, but probably won't comment. I think my comments might focus too much on what is going on with our family.

Right now I am so so overwhelmed with the diagnosis of both of my pets, then secondardy is the cost. First Beauty has an ulcer in her cornea. It is healing but leaving holes that need to fill in. So to help in that they put in a human contact. Imagine that! The cost of her bill yesterday was 117.00 and add that to the 202 dollars I already have on account then you come with 320 almost. It is going to take me forever to pay this off at 25 dollars a month.

Then Sandys visit went in the wrong direction also today. She had to have an x-ray on her paw to show the joint. It is swollen and she favors it so the treatment for that is an antiinflammatory and antibiotic. The most probable cause is a tumor, whether benign or not. Tentatively surgery will be next Friday, but for now we are going to see how this antibiotic treatment will aid in the healing process. Her visit today was 176 and surgery to be up to 400. dollars if they don't clean her teeth while she is alseep and remove this awful wart near her eye.

My blood sugars have been all over the chart today. We will see what happens. I just need this stress to leave.

Take care all and God Bless. . . . .

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. May your days be filled with health, happiness and financial security.

Why . . . . Just because

Its part of the illness I have. I just want to sleep and sleep I did. I got up about 12;45 today and then ate some chips and salsa and laid back down. I got up an hour later and ate 8 chicken wings. Not healthy at all. then I just had half a pack of sweet and salty trail mix.

I feel bloated and ashamed of myself for the lack of control in my eating areana today. Nothing I can do about it is just know it is consumed and it is what it is. A binge or mood eating. With sleeping in late today I do got to say I was up at 8;00 and had cheese and crackers for breakfast. The blood sugars were good. I need to go now because I have some things I want to do right now while I am up to it.So much for the blood sugars being good. It went up to 272 after 8 3 hours after 8 chicken wings. That was all I had. Tired of yo-yo diet and yo-yo sugars. It was suggested to me to get the pump. I wasn't sure I could give myself injections, and I do. Amazing how you can do things once you are forced into it. But the pump seems cumbersome to me. We'll have to see, I might consider looking into it. Very very hestitant about getting one.

The store had turkey breast on sale today for .99 cents a pound. So I bought a six pounder. Guess what we are having tomorrow? Turkey and dumplings, and also turkey and stuffing. This is before my son goes back to college in the evening. There are so many things that need to be done before Christmas and I doubt it will get done. Just have motivation and depression issues. Not sure how to get over it either. I just know that I have got to get control of it or it is going to control me as it has been for many many years. Practically since I can remember. Oh well. . . Enough said of that.

Take care and know this is only until things align itself again when I get to feeling like myself. We ought to play a lottery game about this. . . . when will heavenly feel herself again?

God Bless.
