Okay. Half great day. Half depressing day.
I accomplished all that I set out to do today. Made a delicious chicken in the crock, did the appropriate days of the SU and PU challenges. Walked 3 miles on the treadmill. Stuck to my Cals (1987 right now) and saw 148.8 on the scale.
But I withdrew from my Spanish class. I was getting incredibly stressed out by it and it is not required for my major so I just dropped it. I feel really ashamed that I couldn't handle it and I haven't told Brian yet. Don't know if I'm going to.
I'm so confused as to why this class was really getting to me while I'm currently rocking my Anatomy and Physiology 2, which is MUCH harder than Spanish 202.
I also had an A in my Spanish class but I have 5 big assignments left to do before the semester is over that were just really getting to me. I figure that since I there is such a short time left in the semester that I really wouldn't have learned that much more had I stuck in the class and I felt such a huge relief after I dropped the class.
Once I'm admitted to the nursing program I'm going to take Medical Spanish and hope that that's enough to call myself bilingual on job apps. :-P
I just kind of feel like a failure because there are some moms that accomplish sooooooo much with their time. I'm hoping it will be easier when Aria's bigger and doesn't need to be held all the time. I don't really get much help from Bri, unfortunately.
He does try but he's sort of a goober. Okay... Anway... Here was today's break down. Sugar was sooooo high! And so was salt. Ooops! I think it's from my coffee creamer!
Daily Sodium Intake - 2,984 mg
Daily Sugar Intake - 78 grams
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 244 mg
Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 14 grams
Daily Fiber Intake - 32 grams
My plan for tomorrow:
Make shredded chicken tacos with tonight's leftover chicken for supper tomorrow.
Do 72 Reverse weighted lunges. Broken up into 3 sets of 24.
Walk and study for Thursday's exam.
Love on my Baby.
Your last goal is the easiest and most rewarding =] Meh on the Spanish class. It will just allow you to focus more on your core classes that ARE needed. No use in having it stress you out. And you ARE one of those moms that accomplishes so much, even if you don't realize it. Taking care of yourself physically, going to school and spending time with Aria IS doing a lot. Moms are hard on themselves when they can't be "perfect." We set our standards too high! Coffee creamer is what does me in every day. I guess it's better than eating the rest of the pink champagne cake I have in the fridge, though. |
I second bier. You are doing a lot. I can relate. My oldest child is almost 6 and my youngest is 2. I graduated with a BBA in 2007. Starting in 2004. So I know how overwhelming it can. I also had to drop a class atleast once and I know I had to retake one as well. It is hard no doubt about that but it will be worth it! Hang in there and we are all here for support! |
I don't think its a big deal, the whole class dropping thing. Nor do I think you have to impress people by doing everything else on top of being a mom which is most important and impressive anyways) Seems like nowadays women are pressured into doing so much. Being a soccer mom, CEO, cook, cleaner, sex slave and chauffer. I am planning in advance to scale back for when I have kids. Work part time at most (like as a personal trainer and play in an orchestra for a little money) I just wanna be able to do what I love and focus on kids for 5 years or so. I just want to be happy and stress free as much as possible, adn I think all moms deserve that. So don't beat up on yourself. Do what you have to, but if you can't do something, that can just equal more time for famile...the most important thing ever! |
Oh, we are both 148.8 now :) I think I mighta been 148.6 , but I stepped on the scale twice, and it changed a little. Lets see who can get to 145 first |
Thanks girls. I think that's the biggest thing is that I need to stop comparing myself to other moms. I really feel that I do the best with what I have, I think Aria exressed her concurrence to that statement with a burp!
I will soooo race you to 145! You'll help keep me on my best behavior! |
You sound like a super mom to me! I agree with everyone else - don't worry about the class. You asked about TRX yesterday - I'll do my best to explain it! TRX stands for total body resistance exercise. It's suspension training. You use straps that are suspended from the ceiling in conjunction with your body weight and angle of your body to do the exercises. It's really good for your core and it's a total body workout. The classes are 30 minutes but they are INTENSE. You control how hard you want to work out. I absolutely love the classes. At my gym you have to pay $5 extra per session :( but it's worth it if you can afford it. The website (www.fitnessanywhere.com) is a little intimidating to me, if you look up "suspension training" on wikipedia it's much simpler. Apparently you can also buy your own straps and do it at home but I like having an instructor. |
