had em, i could eat trail mix as my meal for every meal, it is so frickin good, its seriously like crack, mind numbingly good.. now im tempted to switch my dinner to something themed around trail mix! |
Lol. I like trail mix on oatmeal but you don't eat oats, if I remember...maybe with cereal/granola and milk/soymilk/yogurt...that's something you'll be sure to like. Ah candies...I didn't go trick-or-treating and my sister won't share with me. Well...actually, she doesn't mind sharing as long as the candy I want isn't something she likes. But this year it seems she got just her favourite candies. T_T |
ur rt, no oats for me, i am trying eggs eventho i cut them out a few months back bc i found them binding, i hope in moderation itll be ok! i eat trail mix in my cereal everyday! actually twiice a day! i didnt go trick or treating either, im 26 btw! i did go to the store and get 4 bags worth of diff stuff bc they were half off! i highly recc going and getting some! sux that u cant have the candy, go buy some! |
amy! i'm done!!! i submitted everything this AM. it's nice to be done and now i'll just do my best to be patient and wait to hear about interviews. ugh. just for fun, my bf and i were looking at houses in north carolina today (because i applied to three places there) and it's SO affordable to live there. it's crazy! we could pay less for a mortgage on a FOUR BEDROOM house than we pay in rent here. crazy, eh? anyway, thank you so much for your support in this process. you helped keep me sane! i'm so happy for you that you let yourself go with your craving yesterday. i saw your post asking if your craving was indicative of some kind of nutritional deficit. i've said a few times that i think your diet could use more fats. i didn't realize you were only having a 1/3 cup of trailmix a day! that's NOTHING!! i would go back to that health food store and ask about flax seed/flax seed oil. i bet you'd actually really like ground flax seed in your yogurt and on your cereal. the texture is a lot like wheat bran but it has a nice, nutty flavor. but regardless of WHY you were craving nuts and PB, the fact that you've let yourself have these things in larger portions is so so so wonderful. i hope you can keep it up! the challah bread i had was just a little sample from someone selling it. it was fresh baked from a local bakery or something. i almost melted. i've seen it at the store in the fresh bakery section. i may buy some soon if i can get it for a good price. i think your run sounds good AND challenging. it doesn't sound extreme or excessive BECAUSE you were able to fuel yourself afterwards. i think it's also great that you felt like changing up your cardio and decided to run. you've really been more flexible lately and that's so cool! it seems like you're really listening to yourself and following what you want. i definitely have leftovers with the chili. the batch i made almost spilled out of the pot it was so big!! there is a LOT of turkey meat in it (2.5 pounds), along with extra veggies and beans. i had it again tonight and i'm seriously stuffed (which is pretty rare for me)! i think adding in all the extras was key. my bf loved the casserole i made him so much he wanted it TWICE today. i warned him that he's going to get sick of it!! i think you could make it without the cheese. if i were making it for myself, that's what i'd do since i can't really eat much cheese. i'm OK with letting him take this casserole since 1) i don't have much room left in the fridge (which means i have a lot of other food in there) and 2) he more than earned his eats this week with all the proof reading he did for me with my applications. he was such a saint! what did you end up cooking? the ravioli sounds good! do you ever eat turkey burgers? if you have more ground turkey, those are easy and taste REALLY good with greek yogurt on top. when does your grocery store close again? the party for your mother sounds ADORABLE. how sweet that you and your father are doing that for her!! i hope she's surprised! i know it's really hard to break the routine in such a big way. think of it this way: this is EXACTLY the time to break a routine. someone you really care about is having a big day. this is the very time when you garner up your willingness and take all of the thoughts and emotions that come with breaking your routine WITH you as you enjoy the lunch. make space for them. they will show up, because that's what they do. but they don't have to mean the lunch is something to dread. in fact, this is a great opportunity to practice having the thoughts and NOT dancing with them. just let them show up, allow them to be there. notice how your mind tries to figure out how to structure your eating when your normal structure has been turned around. and take all of that with you to the lunch. it's OK to feel anxious about it. your history suggests that's EXACTLY how you should feel. it's not a sign something is wrong. i think the key for you will be to learn how to have your anxiety and not let it drag you down. the thinking part IS hard. we're SOOOOO programmed to spend so much time in our thoughts. it takes practice, practice and more practice to find a different way to relate to your thoughts. sometimes it's just a matter of taking a breath, stepping back, and getting some space from them. you can have the thoughts AND do what you want with your life. you don't have to wait for them to go away. yes, i normally take 1-2 days off from exercise every week. this week i actually took 3 days off. 1 day i actually went to the gym but because of their renovations it was just too hard to get a work out in. rest is part of being healthy...it's part of being active. i consider each day off to be critical to maintaining my fitness...just as much as the days i'm in the gym. balance is key. we didn't have any trick-or-treaters! however, my neighbor did stop by and show me his costume: he made himself a GIGANTIC present out of a huge box and put it on his privates ala the "dick in a box" skit from saturday night live. have you seen that? it was sooooo funny. ok lady! good luck with the start of your short week and with planning the party for your mother. you're so sweet to do that! laura. |
