Tough day today! my mom took my lunch that i made last night, met w lawyers, happy to be home!

B:cereal+trail mix w/milk, greek yogurt~400

S:ounce of  brown cinimmon sugar almods,1 prune! lol~200

L: chocolate PB muffin, trail mix, carrots, grapes~400

S:cereal+golden raisins+chocolate chips w/milk, peach, giant apple, grapes~500

D: salad w/lots of trail mix+fruit, veg cheeseburger, corn on cob~550

S: trail mix, PB, apple, yogurt, Pay Day Candy Bar~550

yea, im sticking to the 2700+ i suppose, i figure i wasnt gaaining b4 so obviosuly, something needs to change.  im also not feeling the gym anymore and i feel myself pushing myself a little less, so i know that combo will put on the weight.  its scarey, i admit, im scared ill get too used to not working out or not as hard, and the eating amount, it is scarey, im trying to see + hear my fears, and then just proceed.  im not going to get to the gym when it gets really cold or snowy, i know that, ill still want to be active tho+i have no interest in the 30 day shred, i need something new?

i dont think ppl 100% recover from an ED.  food is everywhere, no avoiding it, its all in the coping mechanisms.  ur analogy w the baggage, i still feel lost, like i dont know "how" to place the baggage on the seat, how it "should" be, ugh, like at the gym, there is this really fit looking woman, not a stick, just fit, im always tempted to ask what she does, eats, etc, the comparing, its not something i do often, like what does every person do, idk, im stopping...

i saw the candy bags ur talking about, i think, but i wouldnt call the ones i saw huge!lol i got them at cvs and they were 1/2 off so $1.75, how awesome? payday is WAY better than snickers! the school offers reduced or free lunch IF u qualify, even so the posrtions r tiny, esp if u skip bfast, and VERY unhealthy, picture fried chicken, tacos, pizza-all the time.  speaking of, my mother took my lunch this morning! i was so mad, i made do but it was so annoying! do u pack ur lunch? same thing everyday? leftovers or what do u like, or buy when ur out?

 

all of the places i applied to work at are academic medical the places u applied sound really interesting!! what would the popuation be? at the VAs would it be ppl w PTSD? oh, now i see, u ARE going to ny!! what restaurant? i LOVE seafood!  we sometimes go to the chain mccormich+schmicks, theyre all over, its pricey, but great lobster!  

well i havent spoken to my mother but my father said that she said, lol, that the gyno had a recc for a new gastro.  no, noone else has stomach issues but my paresnts are retarded and think the gyno is like a gastro doctor, idk what theyre thinking??!!  i did call my doctor today+left a mess, i ofcourse missed his call back+hs out til fri! 

where r u going to go shopping? i need a new coat too! mine is fitted but a few yrs old, as in when i was like 90lbs so no way can i wear anything bulky u nderneath it, ya know? im thinking of going shopping tomm for some tops-sice im off!! maybe some elastic pants i can wear to work when im all bloated??! does it even exist? maternity? lol!  wknd plans? hows the leg? oh, and wheres the wedding? a college friend? bf coming?

hey there, rock star,

you have the day off today, right?  YAYAYAY!!  good for you!  i have a super duper busy day, so i'm going to try to respond quickly before the chaos begins. 

putting the baggage down requires a few things.  the first is that you just NOTICE when the baggage is there, trying to obscure your view.  work on seeing it AS it happens.  it's easier to know it was there after the fact. the first skill to improve is seeing it WHILE it's there.  in the moment.  does that make sense?  sometimes it helps to label the thoughts when they're there: "here they are,"  "the ED thoughts have arrived," etc.  so, before you work on doing anything else, become really skilled at seeing when the thoughts are there.  in the moment.

after that, work on noticing what you feel pulled to do when they show up.  your gym experience is such a great example.  first, the comparative thoughts showed up.  you had thoughts that evaluated her appearance, thoughts about liking her appearance, and thoughts about wanting to look more like her?  when that happened, you felt pulled to ask her about her routine.  what about in other situations?  like when you sit down to eat?  what thoughts show up then?  and what do you notice about what you feel like you should/need to do in response to those thoughts?

so start here.  with some data collection.  just work on being really good at noticing things happening in the moment.  

i'm sorry your mother took your lunch yesterday!  that would have thrown me off too!  did she apologize?  did you have to pack something else on the spot?  how easy is it to buy lunch when you're at work?  i definitely pack my lunch...saves so much money.  i also keep a bunch of food in my office just because it's easy enough to do.  i don't eat the same thing everyday, because i don't prepare lunch in advance on the weekends.  but i typically have things like sandwiches, tuna, salads and always have a lot of snacks like yogurts, nuts, and cottage cheese.  i'm at work for a looong time so i eat a bunch of times throughout the day.  

the name of the restaurant is aquafish grill, i think.  my friend sent me the link and it sounds good.  i more just trust her evaluation because she eats at super nice restaurants alllllll the time and for her to say this is one of the best means it's really really good!  i've been craving scallops for a while, so i'm hoping they have something good on the menu.  otherwise we'll be eating super cheap in nyc...probably bringing a lot of food with us like canned tuna, oatmeal and other things that are portable just to try to save money.  eating out gets super expensive.  i love this conference, though.  it's in a different city every year and i've been going for five years now.  it's a great chance to see old colleagues and catch up with people i never see because they're on the east coast. 

wait...the doc your mom wants you to see is a gyno?  hmm....i don't know about that, amy.  if you can spare the time, i think you should contact your hmo and ask about other gatro docs within your network.  and then shop around.  a gyno is not going to cut it.

i talked to my bro this AM when i got to work.  i hadn't talked to him in a few weeks.  he told me some chinese girls who work at a fried chicken restaurant are tutoring him in chinese every afternoon.  so random!!

i bought a coat yesterday!  it's not what i had in mind, but i like it.  i have three long coats leftover from when i was on the east coast, so i decided to get a shorter coat instead.  it's black, wool...and i can't describe the texture but it's textured.  it has one of the big necks that's in style this year too.  i really like it and i got it at h&m so it wasn't too expensive.  i'll probably have to wear it in nyc in a couple of weeks!  i also got a new pink scarf and a turtle neck.  oops.  :)  but i didn't get a new dress.  i'm going to make myself wear an old one to the wedding.  the wedding is for one of my bf's friends and it's about an hour away.  we've been to soooo many weddings for his friends in the past two years.  only one of my really close friends has been married.  i'm going to start passing out when more do.  how about you?  are your high school or college friends getting picked off?

have FUN going shopping!!!  are you going to a mall?  i hope you can find some good stuff.  i think you should look for some dresses since those fall more loosely on your tummy and, especially if you get one that is a-line or has a higher waist, it won't even touch on your tummy.  so comfy! 

my leg is doing better.  i ran for a bit the other day and it felt pretty good AND i didn't push it.  i'm just taking it slow.  thanks for asking.
