i never heard of it till i came on here . you are doing good amy eating all the right things to restore your health x |
haha, rt back at ya rock star!! yes, had off, woke up at 6, then every hr, but forced myself to stay in bed til like 9:30, it was great!! what did u have planned for today that was so busy?? BAGGAGE-just ate some ice cream from the container, i can sort of sort of, guesstimate how much i had, again, sort of, but the whole even leaves me feeling anxious about the moment, how i ate, etc. i noticed the scared feeling as i ate, i continued eating it while i felt the uncertainty, i feel scared or uncertain now as well. my thoughts r that i should have taken a preportioned amount of ice cream, that knowing how much im eating would have helped me to feel more at ease. thing is, i hadnt planned on or thought id have ice cream, i sort of robotically opened the freezer, took it, and ate it (mt stomach is starting to hurt! lol). i feel like i should label it a lot more cals than it was, but i THINK it was about 3/4 of a cup and ill go w that, maybe 1 cup but i underestimate most times. i feel like just incase, i should decrease my cals for the rest of the day. ive been feeling and noticing these things, yet i havent acted on them and proceed to act as if nothing happened. idk ugh, i was so mad at my mom!! i just took some random stuff, like lots of extra nuts+a frozen muffin, some veggies+more trail mix, just lots of easy to grab foods. it ended up fine but i sure was pissed!! so i w ork in a vocational highschool where they train the students in diff jobs, as well as the normal academics, and 1 of the electives is food prep where they have a working kitchen. some days they sell food to the teachers, but its not daily and i dont know if u can know in advance if its being sold the next day. its like heavy stuff, penne w vodka, breaded chicken, that type. otherwise, there is a McDs+ dunkin donuts close by. i never leave school but i see teachers coming in w food bags. yea, ur at work for like 12 hrs, i mean just being there 8-3 i bring tons, i can only imagine! i dont think ive heard of aquafish grill, is it a chain or no? scallops r good, but shrimp+lobster r my fav!!! yes, ny can deff be expensive food-wise!! good idea bringing as much as u can, BUT, ny also has some great food that u cant get anywhere else thats worth splurging on! a classic large, thin crust pizza, a bagel, these are ny staples that r not expensive and r really really good, in my opinion!! the confrence sounds likea great great time! what does ur friend do that she can afford to eat out all the time?? lol, idk what type of doc my parents want me to see!! i know the diff, not sure they do! i think if i can navigate myself thru the insurance company website, they have the diff doctors in the area and the contact info, everything w insurance companies is just such an issue, so confusing, ud really think its all purposeful! so cool about ur bro!! maybe hell find some chinese girl, get married, a nd move there! it does sound like hes adjusting well to the new area+socializing too! i think my bro is actually coming home in mid-late dec for a couple weeks, not sure tho. itll be cool, i hope! h&m has good prices, i think, not sure if i ever got anything there. is it in a mall? i hate goingto malls. theyre so loud+busy, i like a smaller mall that we have w just a few outlset stores, otherwise i go to target! i didnt make it shopping today but whatever. i must be really out of the look bc i dont know what u mean by the larger coat collars that r in style now?? lol ull deff need something heavy in ny! its getting freezing out! its so weird i think that ppl our age r married and some w kids. none of my close friends r but a lot of ppl i used to be friends w r married w like 1 or 2 children, its beyond bizarre. especially when u remember how they used to act and stuff. great idea w dresses, altho im not sure i ever see anyone wearing them at work! im like the only one that wears skirts but sometimes i have to bc my pants just stop fitting towards the end of the week! so speaking of running/jogging, dunno the diff. i did today, about 30 mins and my legs feel like hell, what did i do wrong? i tried stretching after and some stretches i couldnt even do bc it hurt too much. what does this mean? what do i do? i hope ur busy day went well and that u had some "me" time too! i appreciate u writing to me in all the chasos also! oh, so i guess u dont use WO dvds? take care+ttys!! amy |
Penne with vodka? Have never heard of that one! Your food diary looks great, everything looks delicious + you made me want mint choc chip icecream lol. |
MERYL-penne w vodka sauce is pasta w a type of creamy tomato cheesy sauce, like 100000 calsories!! basically my school is in a very poor area and what is cheap-unhealthy food, sad but true! the ice cream was awesome, itd been in the freezer since summer+when i opened the freezer and saw it, well i just ate from the carton and COMPLETELY UNDERestimated the amount! your foods always make me hungry! sooo jealous about ur ham sandwich (not kosher) how does it come, what form? |
We have a pile of ham off the bone in our fridge right now that I bought from the deli, so I'm just making my sandwiches with that, + lettuce, tomato and mayo :) |
And pasta with a cheesy tomato sauce actually sounds pretty good, I was imagining it tasting like vodka which sounds nasty! |
meryl-wow, id totally devour ALL the ham, like how r u resisting all that goodness?? lol |
amy! your note really made me smile. you are doing SO well. i'm so happy for you that your cals are up and that you're really trying to do things differently. so awesome! your description of eating the ice cream was great! was that how you experienced it in the MOMENT...as it was happening? or were you piecing that together after the fact? either way, it's fantastic that you ate the ice cream EVEN when you had thoughts that told you to be more rigid about the portions. i think there is still room for you to step BACK from the thoughts about portion sizes. just noticing the thinking/estimating and take a step back from it. you're doing awesome awesome awesome work. these small moments add up to bigger lifestyle changes, so it's really great you are getting more under your belt!! i'm sorry to hear you're so sore from running. running is a high impact exercise AND you're using different muscles that you used on the elliptical. so it's not surprising that you're sore after running for several days in a row. i run a lot (or did before i hurt my hamstring), but i never run for more than two consecutive days. definitely don't run today. do something light: walking, a light go 'round on the elliptical. do it to keep yourself loose and NOT to burn cals. your body needs to repair itself today...even if you're also taking sunday off. sometimes you need more days of rest. remember: balance. i wish i had some suggestions for you about the workout dvds but, no, i don't use them. i'm obstinate and don't like following someone else's instructions. :) the restaurant is actually just called aquagrill i think. it's not a chain. i LOVE lobster...it's my favorite. but i've never eaten it at a restaurant because i usually feel guilty about ordering it. i also love shrimp and more recently developed an obsession with scallops. they just MELT in your mouth. god. so good. i can't wait!!! i definitely will try a bagel and some pizza. i can go for the cheap stuff. i just want to bring enough food so that we're not eating out all the time. plus, we'll need and want snacks, etc., for between meals. if my brother marries a chinese woman i'll die. he's so not romantically inclined. he joked about how a lot of men go over there superficially with the intention to teach but really just to find a wife. it would be cool, i guess, if he found someone. but i don't know if he could seriously date a woman who worked in a veritable kfc because he's a vegetarian and DESPISES chain fast food places. :) did your parents say your bro was coming home? how would you feel about that? the h&m i went to was not in a mall, per se. i don't mind malls because they can be convenient, but i also prefer shops that are outdoors (except in the middle of the winter). where do you like to shop? h&m has totally decent clothes for super cheap. i'd love to be more of a snob about brands, but i don't have the money to even pretend or the desire for that matter. all of my friends in college were super well-off and wore all big name designer brand everything. i was totally fine with it, but learned early on that i can't "compete" in that way. my friend in the city is a financial journalist. she writes for bloomberg. in college, she used to eat out every night for dinner instead of eating in the dining halls because she thought the food was too nasty. to each his own. i love her to death, though. she's super generous and i can tell she put a lot of thought into picking out this restaurant. i've been really busy with work. i'm running a few studies, as i mentioned, and one in particular requires a ton of contact with the participants. even though i have assistants, i like to do most of the work myself just to make sure everything is done correctly. yesterday i was meeting with participants from 8-6 straight, with breaks just to see some clients. it was a long day. i'm leaving the office early today and will work from home on my stuff for the conference. how are the plans shaping up for the surprise lunch? what else are you up to this weekend? i'm not really looking forward to the wedding because i feel like i should be working. but once i'm there and there's so much free food and alcohol (i'm wicked romantic, can't you tell?), i'm sure it will be fun. do you drink? hope you're enjoying your day!! laura |
