I should have woken up early to run/eliptical this morning but I didn't -- I was WAY too tired. Instead hopefully I will be able to get to the gym after work. We are going out at 8pm to watch the Phillies hopefully clench the NLCS so chances are I will not be having the healthiest dinner at the bar :-) I've definietly been taking the easy way out lately with pilates and cardio classes. They are definietly still workouts, but I really need to get in some lifting to tone a bit more.
There aren't a whole lot of total body classes today (go figure) but they do have yoga sculpt (?), boxing, and a total body class (but not until 6:30pm). Will have to tihnk about this.

I took a mental healthday yesterday -- I had a ridiculously busy weekend and didn't get anything done so I took off to be productive and spend some time with the BF.
We had delish omlettes for breakfast and then went ona super long walk down to Union Square to return some stuff at DSW. On the way back there was a guy giving away CASES of the new Stonyfield Farm greek yogurt .... free! So now I have 24 greek yogurts in the fridge. I'm so happy!!
I also started working on cleaning out my kitchen. I'm doing the Cure from my favorite website www.apartmenttherapy.com. It's a 4 week process and each week they give you homework to do to start cleaning and redesigning your kitchen. It's going to be so much fun ... I think I will start writing about it in my blog http://spontaneouslycombustiblebeauty.wordpress.com/.
And today I went to run/ellipical in the gym in my building for 30 minutes this morning. It's not great, but it's a start at least. Burned 330 cals and I am going to a pilates class after work too.

Went to Pilates last night, but unfortunately it was only a 45 minute class. I wish the classes at my new gym were all 60 minutes (like at the old gym) but the new gym is much busier so they have to fit more ppl in I guess. Oh well, burned 220 cals, which is better than nothing.
After pilates I went grocery shopping because the store near my bldg was having a huge sale. I was te best shopper ... I got $150 worth of food for $90!
Also made banana bread last night but it didn't turn out so hot. I tried subbing some ingredients with more healthful ones (applesauce for oil, yogurt for buttermilk, and some whole wheat flour instead of all AP four). It turned out a little too dense for my taste, which is probably because of the whole wheat flour. Next time I'll only tweak one or two things instead of all of them :-)

Went to the doctor today for my annual checkup and weighed in at 133. Not awful but not great. I have been sick for the past few weeks so I haven't been to the gym at all and I feel a bit flabby.
But there was a new zumba class at the gym today after work. The instructor was an amazing salsa/hip hop dancer and the class rocked. I have never had a 400 cal workout feel that good.

I've been going to the gym daily for the past week or so at lunch to take whatever strength training class they offer (and went to hip hop today). I've been pretty good with eating and drinking lots of H20. And today I was at 136 ... higher than I have been in about 3 months ...

So our HR manager made a fantastic deal with New York Sport Clubs (the chain of gyms in NYC with about 100 locations, also locations in Philly and Boston) -- employees only have to pay $30/month pretax and we get access to ANY of their gym locations at any time. The same deal for non-corporate memberships is from $120-$150/month!
The other great thing is that there is a gym in the same building as my office so I have been going at lunch every other day or so. Yesterday I took a 1pm hip hop class that was super fun and today I took a strength training/cardio class at 1pm. The classes at lunch are usually only 45min so ppl have time to get showered before going back to work. And it give me so much more energy in the afternoon!
Last week I weighed in on the new gym scale at 133lb and this week (same scale but post workout not pre) I was at 131lb! I know that a lot of that was b/c I weighed after class, but it's good to see the scale going in the right direction at least!

I can't figure out if I should go to the gym tonight. We have a work happy hour at 5pm and my class doesn't start until 7pm. I could definietly just get dressed for the gym before happyhour and drink H2O/diet coke and then take a cab to the gym. That may make me feel better about the fact that I already can't go two other nights this week because of plans with friends ... plus the fact that I haven't worked out since last Wednesday :-)

Well, I got on the scale at the gym yesterday (the day after Easter dinner ... SO not a good idea!) and I was at 133.5 ... ugh. I've been zigzaging between 130 and 134 for a good 2 months now and it's just getting annoying. I have been bringing my lunch at least 4 out of 5 days and making sure to exercise at least 5 out of 7 days, but it's obviously not really doing much. I am aiming for 1400 cals per day, which means eating back what I burn in exercising. My daily burn (without exercise) is 1900.
So here goes (I think this is the right way to do this!):
4/13: 1784 cals - 559cals (full body class) = 1225cals
1900-1225 = deficit of 675 cals
(minus 80 cals for burn meter measure = deficit of 595 cals)
4/14: 1747 cals - 562 cals (ballet class) = 1185 cals
1900-1185 = deficit of 715 cals)
(minus 120 cals for burn meter measure = deficit of 595 cals)
4/15: 1691 cals - 513 cals (soccer game) = 1178 cals
1900-1178 = deficit of 722 cals)
(minus 80 cals for burn meter measure = deficit of 642 cals)
4/16: No workout today
1900-1411 = deficit of 489 cals
4/20: 1773 cals - 520 (total body class) = 1253
1900-1253 = deficit of 647
(minus 80 cals for double measure = deficit of 567 cals)
4/21: 1934 cals - 550 (ballet) = 1384
1900-1384 = deficit of 512
(minus 120 cals for double measure = deficit of 392 cals)
5/20: 1755 cals - 415 (kickboxing) = 1340
1900-1340 = deficit of 560
(minus 100 cals for double measure = deficit of 460 cals)

So I weighed in at the gym last night and I'm STILL 133.5. GRRRR.
However, I used my new heartrate monitor for the 1st time in my "boot camp" type class and I urned 567 cals in an hour! That's awesome! This is a class where I usually estimate that I burn 400 cals. I love my new HRM!
How is everyone else??

I'm getting sick so I spent the day in bed and on the couch. We had appetizers for dinner (cold cuts, crackers, veggies, and hummus), which is why I had such a high fat %. But I did stay within my calorie goals, which is a good thing!
Total cal: 1336
Goal cal: 1400
Fat: 39% (WOW!)
Protein: 18%
Carbs: 44%
