Weigh-Ins #5 & #6, Christmas Update

Christmas went well this year. Ate in moderation for the most part. (Except for Jelly Belly jelly beans, yum!) I stayed away from chocolate chip cookies though because I know that once I eat one, I won't stop until I make myself sick.

At one of my Christmas gatherings, I also got the courage to try salad (lettuce, carrots, purple cabbage, croutons, and dressing) again. I don't like veggies, and haven't tried salad in years. It wasn't too bad. Definitely going to be an acquired taste for me, though. This salad had shredded lettuce which was new for me, and I liked the shredded lettuce better than the normal whole leaf type.

Weigh in #5- I lost 0.6 lbs this week despite binging twice. Pretty sure it was because I stayed on track with my exercise plan.

Weigh in #6- I gained 0.2 lbs. But I'm pleased with that, because over Thanksgiving, I gained 2 whole pounds, so I'm happy with a Christmas gain of only 0.2 lbs.

At the Y.M.C.A-ay!

So, here's how this week is going so far.....

Sunday: First trip to the Y. Went with my roommate- Whitney, and my boyfriend- Jon. Whitney used to be in the Army ROTC, so she knows a lot about exercising and all of that, so it was nice having her there. Plus she is good at motivating. We played around with the weight machines, but not seriously... I got to use the elliptical! That was so much fun. And then I rode the exercise bike and then Whitney and I did some ab work-out routines that they used to do in the army.... Not such a fan of the ab work-out, lol...

Monday: Went to the Y by myself right after work. It was early in the morning, so there weren't very many people there, so I was glad of that since it still freaks me out to work out by myself around strangers. I only did cardio this day: elliptical, treadmill, and exercise bike.

Tuesday: Bad day. Could not leave house because of the ice, and I just felt bad in general... Binge ate pretty badly. Again. I know, I know..... Twice in one week. (Saturday and Tuesday) Did not exercise at all.

Wednesday: Good day. Even though I started the day off with cupcakes for breakfast. The day progressively got better and after Jon got off of work around 5, we both went to the Y together. I did cardio (same thing as Monday), and then I also did some crunches, some leg extensions on the machine, and I worked my arms out with the free weights while on the stability ball (bicep curls, overhead tricep extensions, and lateral raises). I used 5 lb. dumbbells, and I did 4 sets of 8 reps. I know I am going to be sore tomorrow. I am incredibly out of shape, lol. But I'm working on it!

Weigh-In #4 & Binge Eating

So, for my fourth weigh-in, I weighed 186.4 lbs, which is a weight loss of 2.0 lbs for the week! So that is great.

On Saturday, I went to go buy work-out clothes for my first trip to the gym, and that was a horrible experience! Not only did I end up going on a Saturday during the Christmas Holiday Season (that's enough to put me in a bad mood by itself), I was looking for clothes that actually looked good on me (which is impossible at this weight, so GRRRR ). Nothing looked good. The stores didn't have anything like I was picturing in my head, so I was aggravated. I am just so sick of having to dress like a boy because I am so uncomfortable with my body. So, the whole thing put me into a bad mood, and then my boyfriend and I went to Subway (both of us in horrible moods now), and the "sandwich artist" was one of the rudest people I've ever met! ARGH! I had to leave.... immediately. I stormed out of their, squeezed my chips so tight that the bag popped and then sat on the ground like a sulking 3 year old. I am so mature.

But anyway, after all of that, we were not in any mood to go to the Trim Gym, so I just went home and sobbed my eyes out because I was so stressed, angry at the day, angry with myself for not going to the gym, and pissed at myself for letting myself get this big in the first place.

Anyway, I ended up binge eating really bad yesterday. Not so bad at my house because I don't have any junk food there. But I ended up going to Sonic... which is the devil. It was just bad. Definitely an emotional eater.

But anyway, I've decided not to go to the Trim Gym because the only people that really go there are people who are already skinny already. I'm serious. That gym has the reputation of being the "rich skinny bitch" gym, so I've decided to go the YMCA today instead. We'll see how that goes! Wish me luck! I'm going to try really hard to get back on track.

Weigh-In #3

So, today's weigh-in was 188.4! That's a loss of 2.6 lbs!

It's very exciting, but I have a little voice in the back of my head questioning the authenticity of this number. I weighed myself four times ,but I've just started my period and I know that your weight can do all sorts of crazy things around TTOM, so I don't know about that 188.4.......

2.6 lbs. is a lot of weight to lose in one week, and I haven't been exercising at all, so I don't really see how I could have lost that much. So, I'm not going to place TOO much stock in this number because I would hate for it to be the wrong number and next week I weigh 189.7 or something, and feel bad about everything all over again.

But then again, I have to remind myself that it's just a number on the scale, and I should focus more on how I look in my pictures and how I feel, so I am trying to keep that in mind!

Joining a gym in a week!

I've FINALLY made the decision to join a gym. Yay! Final exams are over next week, and I am planning on the VERY NEXT day after my last final, I am going to be marching my ample rear to the Trim Gym. Woo hoo! I am so excited about this decision. At first, what kept me from joining the gym was the thought that I couldn't afford it, but then I remembered that I have a scholarship check coming in January, so I can definitely afford it.

Past weight loss attempts have been failures, but not this time! This time I am changing my entire approach and attitude. I can do it! I calculated the amount of weight I need to lose and the amount of time I have to lose it in (to be skinny by my internship), and I can achieve my goal if I just lose 1.25 lbs. a week. That's only 5 lbs. a month. Pretty achievable, huh?

And just in case someone is reading this:

I learned a new quote a couple days ago from YouTuber antishay:

"A goal without a plan is a wish."

I love that quote! I have a goal, and I have a plan, so I am no longer wishing anymore: I am setting forward to achieve!

As you can tell, I'm chock full of motivation right now, lol.

My Mini-Weight Loss Goals

Here are my rewards for each of the mini-goals I meet:

185- New workout clothes. (Need these so badly!)

180- Cute new haircut.

170- A GOOD pair of new tennis shoes

165- Bowling Trip (Sadly, I don't get out bowling enough, and I LOVE bowling!)

155- Learn to drive a stick shift (Tried and failed MISERABLY several times, lol)

150- New Bedset (May seem silly, but I am getting so sick of looking at brown and green every night, lol.)

140- Ice Skating Trip (I've never been ice skating before, and for some strange reason, it's become an obsession of mine, but I'm not comfortable enough with my body yet to go out and try something new like that, just yet. I figure 140 is a perfect weight for that.)

135- Get nose re-pierced (I pulled it out and lost it one drunk, stumbly night, and I "passed out" before I could find the ring and get it back in, and it grew back up, lol.)

130- GOAL WEIGHT!!!! Buy new wardrobe and make huge ceremony of taking ALL my fat clothes to Goodwill and never looking back!

Weigh in #2

So.... this week hasn't gone well. I would like to be able to blame it ALL on Thanksgiving, but I can't do that because Thanksgiving is only 1 day out of a 7 day week.

I did my weigh in today. I've gained 2 lbs! I'm now up to 191.0 lbs. At least I'm not heavier than my original weight, but I'm still not happy.

I don't know what it was about this week.... I've just about eaten everything that wasn't nailed down, and I've skipped working out 4 days. And then I skipped it again today. I am just so exhausted and I have so much school work to do. Jeez. If that doesn't sound like an excuse, I don't know what does.... Maybe I will go work out after posting this.

I feel sick and bloaty because I just ate out at KFC. Yech. Probably shouldn't have done that....

*Sigh* At least I've only gained 2 lbs. I lost 2.8 lbs last week, so I can lose this 2 lbs. again this week, and I'll just start all over again. I've got to stay focused!

Falling Off the Wagon

These past 3 days have been HORRIBLE.

Sunday- BINGED like nobody's business: pizza, cookies, chips. *Sigh* At least I exercised, but it was tough. I nearly convinced myself to quit 2-3 times. Luckily I stuck with it though; little did I know that not even two hours later, I would be shoving my face FULL of high-calorie crap.

Monday- Slept all day. Didn't do too bad on the dieting part, but then again it's kind of hard to shovel food into your face when you're fast asleep. Did not exercise. Was absolutely exhausted for some reason. Tried to force myself to get up and go walking, but couldn't muster the energy.

Tuesday- Started this day of wonderful... not. Forgot to take food to work, so I get hungry and heaven forbid I reach for the toast... no, I went straight for the lemon danish. Then after work, I stopped by Sonic on the way home and ordered an order of French Toast Sticks, that order of 3 mini-sausage biscuits w/cheese and gravy, and a Mocha Caramel Java Chiller. I did force myself to exercise today though. Besides starting out bad though the day went fairly well, though not great. I also ate a yogurt, a pack of Chicken Ramen Noodles (enough sodium to kill a cow), and half a box of Mac&Cheese. Not great I know, but when I normally start my days out at Sonic, I go WAY overboard and binge for the rest of the day. So I'm half-way proud of myself for today.

Let's just hope that I am able to get back on track full on tomorrow. *Sigh*

Well, this week was my first weigh-in, and I am pleased!
Well, anyway, I have to go walking now!
