This afternoon I bought a set of digital bathroom scales as my new house has none and I don't like using the analogue type ones at my gym. Anyway, normally I weigh-in on Wednesday morning, which is tomorrow but since it's Tuesday night and I just bought the new scales I thought I'd just weigh myself now. Last week I was 75 (same as the week before that) but my new weight according to my brand new scales is 72.2!!!! So that's a loss of 2.8kg since last week. I know that's more than the recommended 1kg per week or whatever, but it was that-time-of-the-month last week so my weigh-in reported zero weightloss. So I'm thinking maybe that has something to do with this weeks bigger loss. I started at 82.7 and am now 72.2 so I'm a whole 10.5 kgs lighter and so far it's only taken 5 weeks!!!
When I stepped on the scale I was so nervous and expecting no change, maybe even a slight gain as I had quite a bad binge one night leading up to this weigh-in. So of course I was amazed to see I'd lost 2.8. My BMI is now 25.8 so I just need to get it down to 24.9 to finally make it into the healthy weight range. Wow today is such a huge milestone!!! I've achieved my 3rd mini-goal of 73.7 and also lost more than 10% of my starting weight!!! I'm so thrilled!!
I now have 7.2 kgs to get rid of, til I'm at my goal weight of 65. I can't even imagine how great it will feel to be that low again for the first time in years!! I don't want to lose quickly though, I'm still aiming for about a kilo per week or slightly less and am allowing for period weight stand stills. I think I'm probably likely to reach a plateau as it seems like this happens to most people but I'm not sure what to do if that happens, guess I'll just cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm hoping slow, steady weight loss will be easier to maintain. Having lost 2.8kgs just in this week alone, I feel really nervous about putting that weight back on. When I reach 65, I want to be able to switch to a maintenance plan and keep my weight from creeping back up.
Oh and another thing! On my 'my Home' page, right at the bottom where it shows your weight, goal weight and how much you've lost, there's a big thumbs-down next to it! I guess calorie count really doesn't like any more loss than a kg!!
can you tell us if you are calorie counting or on some other type of diet. am heading for 80kg and now 97 ish. I know how to power diet and get to my target weight but you had some good info on slowing down the losing process...1 kg per week... |
