The kids decided that tonight would be our dinner out and their meal of choice - Chinese. For once they agreed on where to go so we headed to the Chinese buffet. Now you know why I'm seeing red in my analysis. I made pretty good choices -  a bowl of egg drop soup and lots of vegetables but I did allow myself to have my faves as well. Only this time instead of filling 1/2 my plate with them  (and having 2-3 very full plates) I took only 1/2 a spoon or so. I was able to enjoy them without going overboard. That is a step in the right direction. I ended up having about 1 1/2 plates plus the soup and the second plate only had a small amount and some melon for dessert. Progress!
I had to guess on the calories and just picked things that were close since I'm not real sure on some of the dishes but as always when eating out at a restaurant that doesn't have nutrition info available I tend to log on the high side just in case. So I was happy to see a nice size deficit even before I did my bike ride this evening.
I got up early and did a ride (15 min) and then after work DH and I went for our walk (37 min) while Son was at basketball practice. Daughter didn't join us tonight - she wanted to sit and read.  Then after logging I convinced myself that I needed to get back on the bike and did another 20 minutes before heading to watch NCIS (I love this show!). During a commercial break I did some planks and bent knee pushups. 3 minutes was all I could take. I had started out doing wall "pushups" and have moved to doing them against the counter (I can now do 32 without stopping) so I wanted to see if I could do the bent knee ones. I was surprised that I could do 10. It wasn't long ago that I couldn't do more than 1 or 2! I know I need to work on my form but I figure anything is better than nothing and my upper body definitely needs some strength work.

Auggie, you are do so wonderfully. You should be very proud. This new determination is impressive. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on the pushups - I HATE them! I have to ice my shoulder everytime I do them! So, I don't do them at all. I'm very impressed!
