That describes what happens to me. If I eat too much sugar quickly, it passes through the gut before everything's been processed. Then it hits the large intestine, and water is absorbed back in, causing pain, gas, and diarrhea. Once I've been able to clear the pipes, I'm fine.
I now know I have to be careful about the amount of sugar I have in a day; I'm not sure if it's a daily total to be careful about, or whether it's about eating one thing that's very sugar-laden. I'm also not sure if it concerns one particular type of sugar over another - most of the literature discusses lactose and fructose. Neither of these seem to fit; I eat yogurt regularly with no ill effects AND with fruit added, so if those two were a problem it should have manifested quite a while ago. I think this is either a sucrose or HFCS issue.
I do know I don't want to go through another episode like today. That was sheer misery, and my friends were very concerned. I was shaking, sweaty, and pale - almost shocky, it sounds like, doesn't it? :S My lower GI doesn't like being stretched AT ALL.

All I've wanted to do today is eat. Nothing has been satisfying.
Protein? No.
Fruit? No.
Veggies? No.
Salty? No.
Sweet? Hell no.
I've overshot my calories for the day, and I'm still HUNGRY. What the hell?

I have been woefully poor about working out. Yes, I've been dancing and working in the yard (if I don't mow frequently, it becomes a jungle, and the city doesn't like that). But with just that and watching my calories, I've been holding steady rather than losing.
I'll ask the boss next week about walking at lunchtime.
However, I got my first plums off the tree this weekend! Ripe, juicy and sweet; that's what a plum is supposed to be - not the sour nasty rocks they sell in the grocery store. I don't even bother buying them anymore because they're so horrible.
I love the summer! I'm finally warm and there's lots of fresh fruit available. Now, if the bugs would just settle down . . .

I am finding that I would rather have a frittata over a quiche. Why? No crust. Crusts are not tasty enough to be worth the calories, and I would rather have more egg/more protein.
Same with burgers - the bun is a waste of calories. If I make sure I'm getting enough niacin I should be fine.
I like cornbread, biscuits, and soft, yeasty rolls, but regular bread and pie crusts don't do much for me.

My cherry tree is bursting with fruit! I'll never reach them all, but I will enjoy trying!

I think most people would say they are careful calorie counters all week, then have a tendency to overeat on the weekend. This may be that they are in social situations where high-cal foods are available, they are celebrating, or whatever.
I have to be different. I tend to undereat on the weekend, that is to say, I sometimes don't get to the minimum like I'm supposed to. Very odd indeed. I mean, I know I sleep late, but I also seem to snack less AND I'm busier, so I'm getting more exercise.
Well, I still feel good and I'm losing weight slowly but steadily, so I guess this isn't hurting me.
