Entry Getting into this
Nov 04 2009 09:15

Okay, I feel like I am starting to get the hang of this.  I adjusted my original calorie limit to 1500 since 1300 was a little extreme to start off with.  I am still adjusting and having trouble figuring out what to eat other than processed, high-protein Morningstar foods, aka vegetarian burgers and cottage cheese.  I think I need to work on lunches for work, especially.

Any ideas for easy to count and easy to pack lunches for work?

Earlier this week I weighed myself and I lost 2 lbs since the last time I was weighed, which was 3 weeks ago.  And I had only been counting for 2-3 days at that point!  I'm really excited to weigh myself next Monday and see what a difference the first full week of counting will make.

I'm starting to get really excited about this.  I have started to get over the initial anger at having to count calories and not being able to eat whatever I wanted anymore, and I've started to focus on how exciting and amazing it will be to lose the weight and wear a few clothing items that have been waiting in my closet for me to wear.  I'm just so excited to actually see results.

I don't really want to visit my parents/hometown before Thanksgiving for many reasons, but now I'm really excited because that gives me almost 4 weeks to lose weight before I see my family.  Won't they be surprised!

Need food ideas though.  That is for sure.

I make a big thing of salad  at the beginign of the week and before work i just put a couple cups in a small container. it saves time and is super low in cals.  add a few peices of lean sandwich meat or a few hard boiled eggs just the whites(17 cals each) to add some protein. I have been using the low calorie zesty itallian dressing (5 cals a tbsp)

if you are feeling lazy and dont want to make anything try those lean cusine meals with some extra veggies and fruit

get those little yogart cups. The brand I have is source by yoplait and they are only 35 cals each

rice cakes my favorite are white cheddar

laughing cow light cheese peices

fruit and veggies

and lots of water with each meal makes you feel fuller and helps your body process the food

I also make a big pot of brown rice at the beginning of the week, then you can add soy sauce, chicken, veggies, whatever and just toss it in the microwave.  Another idea is canned soup... campbells select have only 150 calories, I add extra frozen veggies to make it heartier.

Good Luck!
