And sometimes that's a good thing.
I fell off the wagon a little this week. Hot flashes, insomnia and mood swings can do that to anybody. And then there was that local food festival. Yeah.
But I guess I must not have fallen that far. I still exercised portion control--most of the time. And ended up with a three pound loss--over which I am scratching my head, thanking God, and promising to do better this week.
Down eight total.
Yay!

Lost another two pounds this week, so now I'm down five total--and holding.

Yes, I'm down three pounds for the week, and holding....
Starting weight: x
CW: X-3
For the algebraicly inclined...
Now let's see if I can hold off a whole week without stepping on the scale. I seriously doubt I'm going to make it!
I also started a new blog to keep my recipes and weight loss journal in one place.
The burger stop went ok. I still finished the day under the calorie limit that caloriecount set for me, but above the slightly lower limit I'd like to strive for.

OK, I'm going to have to stop the obsessive scale watching. And I have a new challenge today--eating out.
At probably the worst possible place to eat out. Hubby wants to go to Five Guys.
Now Five Guys is a special treat for us. The bacon cheeseburger is to die for, and I hope I don't mean literally. Even the "little" bacon cheeseburger and a serving of fries (half a regular) will cost me around 1000 calories.
So here's the plan. I'll skip the peanuts.
Drink water (and plenty of it). And we'll split one order of fries between the three of us. And I might only eat 2/3 of the burger. (I'd rather have 2/3 of a bacon cheeseburger than one whole hamburger). And two lighter (less fat) meals for the rest of the day. We shall see how this goes.

OK, I didn't lose any more weight today, but I did take my meatloaf recipe that my family loved last night, and made myself a meatloaf sandwich for lunch. (Right after I got off the treadmill!)
I was a little worried that it wouldn't be the same without ketchup, which I cannot eat because of my acid reflux--let alone the salt.
A teaspoon of tomato puree on the top, and it tasted just like I remembered. It was insanely good--and rated A for healthy. Yum.

Day three, and according to my obsessive compulsive scale watching, I've lost three pounds! Yay, me!
Now the challenge starts. Supposed to go out to lunch today, we'll see how I do with that. I'm going to try to plan ahead and chose (and record) what I am going to eat before I go. That should help.
The only thing that has suffered is my writing. I need to get to editing, but I've been a bit consumed with calorie counting and exercising. And writing is so sedentary. Grrr. I'm in desperate need of balance.

OK, I admit it. I'm an obsessive scale watcher, especially in the beginning. Stepped on the scale today, and I was down a pound--actually closer to a pound and a half.
And yes, while I know that a lot of the initial weight loss is water weight, I will take my encouragemant anywhere I can find it.
Yay!

First day on calorie count, so there's not much to report yet. Have over a hundred pounds to lose, so I'll be around awhile. Looking for some diet buddies.
I recorded my starting weight, ate and recorded a healthy breakfast, and will get my exercise in later.
Off to a good start. But I know the road ahead is a long one.
