Entry Things don't usually go as planned

I didn't get to make my Hawaiian Quesadillas last night =[ Oh well, we'll have them tomorrow night because tonight is roasted chicken night! Yum! It works out perfectly because I can prep it before Emma's dance class and then Ryan pops it in the oven about 30 minutes before we get home. Viola! We'll have it with sauteed yellow squash and zucchini and some whole grain orzo.

I took the kiddos with me to Hobby Lobby last night while Ryan was helping the in-laws pick up furniture. Man, that store is dangerous, especially around the holidays. I wanted to buy so much gift wrap, bags, bows, decorations, etc., etc. While I was wandering through the Christmas section, I saw that tree skirts were 50% off! We "need" a new one and they had one that was very similar to a skirt I found at Crate and Barrel last year but couldn't afford. So I bought it. It was priced at $50 so I got it for $25. Maybe I'll talk Ryan into going back with me to buy up some decorations. I really wish we could afford to buy all kinds of stuff from there! I also picked up some fabric to make a blanket for my coworker who just had a baby yesterday. I really don't like their selection of fabrics, though, so I still have to go by Joanne's and peruse their stock to complete it.

Anyway! There's a Mr. Goodcents next door to Hobby Lobby so we walked down and got a foot-long turkey on wheat that Emma, John and I shared once we got home. John wasn't that into eating and was pretty much inconsolable at that point. He has another major diaper rash and is still congested like crazy. If he's not improving by tomorrow, we're going to the doctor. It's so bad that he's almost panting and I can hear his shallow, raspy breathing over the monitor at night.

Emma went to bed by herself last night which is a first. She did, however, wake up at 5:30 when I snuck out to turn on the heat. The creaking floorboard was enough to wake her up and she told me that she couldn't sleep with all the noise I was making. Well, her talking woke John up. So we'll have some majorly cranky kids by the time evening rolls around. Yay!

That is a great analysis. Mine is not as great as it used to be lately. What did you have today?

Kashi Go Lean topped with chopped banana and soy milk and a side of All Whites.

Campbell's Select Harvest Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta soup for lunch (not yet, but soon!)

Roasted chicken (I only eat the breast) with orzo and yellow squash and zucchini sauteed in olive oil.

Lots and lots of coffee and water.

Oh, I have to eat a few snacks or else I get grumpy :) The roasted chicken is sounding good right now. I want some rotisserie chicken or duck soon.

My breakfast is fairly calorie-dense at 420ish calories. It usually holds me over until lunch between noon and 1pm. My lunches are normally pretty light and I do find myself getting hungry around 4pm. Since we have such young kids, we eat dinner early so I usually just hold off until then.

You're also much taller than me, I think (last I was measured, I was 5'2.75" tall) and are much more active. I would have to eat snacks, too!

Plus, the ounce-of-water-per-minute habit that I have probably fills me up, too. Seriously, I drink over 500 ounces between 8am and 4pm.

Your day does look great! Squash and zucchini with orzo sounds AMAZING! Mmmmmmm.

Poor, poor John. I'm glad Ari hasn't had a day like that.

I love decorations! I can't even go into places like that right now!

Emma is hilarious!

Good luck sticking to your plan!

Oh and I agree about the water keeping away the need for snacks. Coffee, too.

I always feel full after a cup of coffee.

500 oz!  And I thought I was a heavy drinker.  When I did the gallon urine test for preeclempsia, I had to ask for an extra one.  They didn't quite beleive me, until I brought them both in.

And arts and craft stores are like a wonderland, even more than office supply stores.  There are so many things to do, so many ideas I get - I just don't have the money, time, or space for it all!
