171 this am. Still adjusting to being back to work after last week.
got in a 3.5 mi easy run this am, no knee braces or fluids throughout. Switched back to Galloway r/w 1min each in prep for half on Sunday. Have decided the heck with 3hr goal, curent goal is to finish and will be happy with anything under 3.5 hrs.
I've been looking at the "Team Orgeon" Pace Wizard III and entered my 5k, 10k, and 15k pb's and got interesting results. It provides Easy training run guides and projected race performance with avg hr information as well as pace. Interestingly it has avg hr's that peak at about maf-10 for the easy runs. It also says I should shoot for an avg hr of 106 for a half, and complete in 2:49:15, 12:54 pace. Not sure I want to try that this weekend tho. I'll have to see how it goes once the race starts. I reviewed my 15k data and was surprised to see how fast I was really running on a very warm day. I tihnk I'll use the same game plan and target r/w 1/1 at the start and feel my way thru the rest of it. Temp at race time could be in the high 50's and reach the upper 60's by the time I finish. A little warmre than I would like it, but a lot cooler than the Labor Day 15k.
Good luck on Sunday Kristin!
Got a call from S & J yesterday morning. They are having a great time in NYC. Minor hotel glitch. The reservation was supposed to include free internet and breakfast but doesn't. That is no really big deal, but means they are not upating FB or anything.
E and I are probably getting together tonight with the usual suspects for mid week dinner. I'm sure we'll be reviewing this past weekends events.
Glad to be getting back to normal, but do miss my little girl...
I'm feeling guilty because I haven't run in a while. Your posts always make me want to hop out of my chair and sprint through the office doors. Congrats on your daughter's wedding. Oh gosh, I'm a huge daddy's girl and I know I'm going to cry like a baby whenever my dad gives me away. That's not supposed to happen haha. Good luck on your half this weekend! I know you'll do great. Hope the knee gives you no trouble!

Thanks delaney - not only did I give her away, I performed the ceremony! Was surprised I didn't start crying during it and the dance I had with her. Husbands Mom was singing "Stand by Me" - something S put her up to! |
Your last line made me wistful - My Dad passed away before I was married. I would have LOVED for him to be there for my special day. She's a very lucky girl! I just did a lunch run of 3 miles with a pace of ~ 12 minutes/mile. If I can repeat that (this was a 2:1 interval) on Sunday, I will be thrilled :) Finishing is the goal!! I'm having issues figuring out what the layers will need to be though - tough one to figure out. Ugh. GOOD LUCK!!! I want to check out that Team Oregon thing, too. Thanks for mentioning it!
